BEST FOOD FOR ADHD Some of you know, some of you don't. I recently had been diagnosed as a high functional ADHD. Like most people, I tough that ADHD was only the description of hyperactive kids. And I would describe myself as a quiet person in general.... I'm still trying to figure things out myself. I'm far from mastering it, but for me, it's been a relief... Finally, I can sit down and make sense of so many things I never been able to explain before. In the past, coaching my clients have been the best way to work on myself, and I decided to share my journey with whoever would benefit from it! Be patient with my grammar; writing never been high on my strengths list. And this is not any better in French! But like everything, the more you practice, the better you get... And this is something I would love to work on. BEST FOOD FOR ADHD The diet is an essential part of controlling ADHD. I always paid attention to what i ate, mostly because of the way it was making look, and overall how better it was for my health. But never seriously stopped on how food affects your mood and focus. Quickly I realized how simple sugar (candies, juice, pasta, noodle) affected my mood in serious way. Sour patches kids and sour candies have been my biggest weakness my entire life, and only recently, i understood all the damage it created. I also be increasing my daily intake of Omega 3 and anti oxidant. This is where I've seen most changes in my focus. A diet rich in protein is also beneficial. I stay away from protein powder and try to get natural source like fish. Another big change for me has been completely stop the use of all "fake sugar". This drastically reduced my overall cravings. Latest studies shows that artificial sweeteners and sweetners, disrupts dopamine and dopamine receptors in the brain. This can lead to alterations in behavior, binge eating, and ADHD symptoms.
