Request from the contractor and parks people to please not block access for trucks doing road work at airstrip entrance in Crawford Creek Regional Park. Just park on opposite side of roundabout and leave entry to new road free for gravel trucks entering with fill.

Local Couple Offer Alternative Green Xmas Shopping Experience - Read more below and on their website! Why Give Trees? Hey Riondel.... Mainstreet loves ya! What can we do to encourage you to buy a paper? Only 6(!) copies were sold at the market in November. Are ya'll just following covid protocols or has Mainstreet hurt your feelings or disappointed you? Feedback welcome - public or private.
The Mainstreet is lost!! Purolator lost the plot and sent it to Calgary. I guess it's finding its way back to us, but delayed by a day or two. Sorry folks, I guess we're all a bit stressed and scattered.
The October edition is out a little late due to trying to cover the election announcement made late in Sept. It will be in stores on Tuesday of this week. Thanks for your patience and your support. Happy Thanksgiving and Halloween to all along our Mainstreet.

UPDATE: he's been found. UPDATE From Son, Kaelen: THEY HAVE FOUND HIM THANK YOU GUYS. Please respect my privacy while I figure out the steps that need to be done to help fix and heal my dad. Love to everyone who helped and shared and talked to me. He wouldn’t have been found so quick if it wasn’t for all you amazing people. Please stop the missing post
Expect delays on the ferry today. The 12:20 Osprey sailing left nearly an hour late from Kootenay Bay due to a medical emergency. It is likely that the schedule will be off for the remainder of the day, so please plan accordingly.
Has anyone seen Cory?

SEPT 9, 9am: Power outage merry-go-round... this from FORTISBC as of this morning:
Much of the East Shore has power back now, but for those who don't, it may still be a bit of a wait. The red dot in the green area, and the red swath show the trouble areas and the FORTIS website is saying it could be until tomorrow afternoon before it comes back.
AND... LATEST UPDATE ON POWER RESTORATION:
POWER UPDATE FOR EAST SHORE (4:50pm): restoration still estimated for 8:30, however FORTIS is now saying that pockets of the East Shore should prepare for overnight outages due to extensive damage. Guess we'll find out which pockets those are later...
UPDATE ON POWER: Estimated time of restoration on "major transmission damage" on East side of Kootenay Lake stated as 8:15pm according to FORTISBC.
A day on Kootenay Lake courtesy of ESIS... such beauty.
