November 29, 1977 Alton E. Cassidy Alton E. Cassidy, 107 George Street, Carleton Place, died suddenly in Carleton Place and District Memorial Hospital Tuesday, Nov. 29, 1977 in his 71st year. Born August 14, 1907 in Goulbourn Township, Mr. Cassidy was a son of the late John J. Cassidy and his wife, Mary N. McCoy. He received his education in Goulbourn Public Schools, Carleton Place High School and Ottawa Teachers College. As a teacher, Mr. Cassidy taught in sc...hools in Kenora, Ashton and Carleton Place . In Carleton Place, he was a principal of the former Central School , where the federal building now stands as well as principal of the former Prince of Wales School, High Street, now the site of the Senior Citizens' apartments. Mr. Cassidy served overseas with the Royal Canadian Air Force during the Second World War. He retired from teaching in 1966. He is survived by one sister, Cora (Mrs. Milton Graham), Stittsville and numerous nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his sisters Edna Dowdall and Lola Rathwell and brothers William, Cedric, Verner, Carman and Arthur. The funeral took place at 1:30 p.m. Thursday, Dec. 1, 1977, from the Kerry Funeral Home, Carleton Place, to St. James Anglican Church with Rev. Allan Gallichan officiating at the service. Internment to take place in Munster Union Cemetery in the spring. Pallbearers, all former students of Mr. Cassidy, were, Allan Taylor, Morley Whalen, Carl Townend, Ken Hastie, Allan Wing and Art Flint. See more

Dalton Bazil Graham, beloved son of Cora Cassidy and the late Milton Graham; dear brother of Denzil, Claude, Russell, Sterling, all of Stittsville; Gilmour, Hamilton, Ontario; Hazel (Mrs. R. Bradley), Helen (Mrs. W. Ludlow), Shirley (Mrs. Ivan Seabrook), all of Ottawa, in his 56th year. Resting at the Kerry Funeral Home, 61 Lake Avenue West, Carleton Place, after 7 p.m. Monday. Service in the Funeral Home on Wednesday at 2 p.m. Interment St. James’ Cemetery.

Bradley), Helen (Mrs. W. Ludlow), Shirley (Mrs. Ivan Seabrook), all of Ottawa, predeceased by son Dalton; predeceased by Sisters Edna Dowdall, Lola Rathwell and brothers William, Cedric, Verner, Carman, Arthur, and Alton; loving grandmother of 24 grandchildren and 12 great grandchildren, in her 87th year. Rested at the Kerry Funeral Home, 61 Lake Avenue W., Carleton Place. Thence to Wesley United Church, Stittsville where funeral service was held on Saturday at 2:00 p.m. Interment Munster Union Cemetery.

Relatives, friends and neighbours paid final tribute to the memory of Milton David Graham, well known district farmer, at his largely attended funeral which took place on Wednesday, October 16, 1968, from the Fleming Bros. Funeral Home to Munster United Church where the service was held at 2:45 p.m. with Rev. W. H. LeGrow officiating. Interment was in Munster Union Cemetery. On Tuesday evening a large group of Orangemen attended the Orange Service which was held at the Funeral Home at 7 p.m. Mr. Graham, who had resided on the 7th Line of Goulbourn, passed away on Sunday, October, 13, in the Ottawa Civic Hospital. He was in his 92nd year. Born in Goulbourn Township on April 28, 1877, he was a son of the late David Graham and his wife, the late Mary Simpson. He attended Wesley United Church. He was an active and long time member in the Orange Association. For 77 years he was a member of Munster O.Y.B. No. 30, being a Past Master and an honorary member. For 72 years he was a member of Mansfield L.O.L. 69, being a Past Master and an honourary member. He had farmed all his life in the Goulbourn district and had served on Goulbourn Township Council from 1926 to 1947. He was married in St. Stephens Anglican Church, Munster, on June 12, 1912 to the former Cora Cassidy, who survives. Besides his wife he is survived by six sons, Denzil, Russell and Sterling of Stittsville; Claude and Dalton, 7th Line of Goulbourn and Gilmour of Hamilton, Ont.; three daughters, Hazel (Mrs. Rankin Bradley), Helen (Mrs. Willis Ludlow) and Shirley (Mrs. Ivan Seabrook ) all of Stittsville; 24 grandchildren, also survive. The pallbearers, nephews of the deceased, were Clifford Graham , Earl Graham, Lorne Vaughan, Allan Cassidy, Leonard Dowdall and Clarence Dowdall.
