We would like to express gratitude for all front line health care workers: nurses, doctors, support staff, cleaning staff etc. all for their tireless work during this exceptional time being experienced all over the world. If you know a nurse or doctor in your family or in your neighbourhood, thank them and ask if there is something that could be done to make their lives easier. Baking a cake, making a meal or volunteering to babysit their children or even clean their homes. Thank you so much for your dedication to helping others in these trying times.

Notice to our patients, As the situation with CoVID-19 is continually changing we are making changes that are grounded in care for our patients, staff, and community as well as government recommendations. We have deemed it necessary to suspend all dental services as of March 26th, 2020. If you have an upcoming appointment we will contact you to reschedule.... Dr. Sharma will be checking the answering machine and return calls as soon as possible in cases of dental emergencies. To limit the spread of the virus and flatten the curve we are trying to deal with emergencies pharmacologically and encourage patients to not visit the dental office to better protect themselves. That said we are here for you in these hard times and you can call us for any questions or needs you have and we will try to the best of our ability to get you some solutions. Be safe and well, we will get through this as a community and a country by standing strong and united -Dr. Sharma.

To our patients, As we all continue to monitor the coronavirus (Covid-19) situation closely we want to reach out and share the actions we are taking to keep our patients, staff, and the general public safe. As your trusted dental health care provider we are committed to delivering dental care in a safe environment that promotes and protects the well being of our patients and community. In addition to our rigorous hygiene standards that we always employ we are training our sta...ff to not only uphold and practice these measures but also to follow the guidelines from CDA, MDA, WHO, local governments and public health agencies. As an additional precaution, we ask that you inform us if you have traveled outside of Canada in the last 14 days and if you have any flu-like symptoms or if you have had direct contact with anyone suffering flu-like symptoms who traveled outside of Canada or has been diagnosed with coronavirus. In these instances, we will ask you to reschedule your appointment to help protect you and limit the spread of the virus in the community. We are prepared to navigate these challenging circumstances with everyone's safety in mind and appreciate your help in doing the same. In cases of emergencies or any questions pertaining to coronavirus our office will be happy to answer your queries, we will be answering our phones throughout this period and Dr. Sharma's cell phone number will be on the answering machine for any emergencies.

#TuesdayTeethTips avoid the daily grind! If you experience worn tooth enamel, increased tooth sensitivity, or torn cheek tissue, you may be grinding your teeth in your sleep. Though we can't stop you from grinding your teeth, we can fit you with a mouthguard to improve your oral health.

It's been a few years since we were visited by the Tooth Fairy. Ok, quite a few years...but you never forget how exciting it is to wake up to a loonie under your pillow where your tooth used to be! We consider the Tooth Fairy a colleague of sorts because the idea helps comfort kids while they are undergoing the strange experience of losing a tooth. That's why we're celebrating National Tooth Fairy Day this Friday! If you'd like to celebrate Tooth Fairy Day with your kids or other little ones in your life, you can talk to them about the importance of taking care of your teeth, prepare healthy snacks and colour Tooth Fairy colouring pages. Here are a few fun designs you can download and print: http://getdrawings.com/tooth-fairy-coloring-pages-to-print

Cross your fingers for chocolate this Valentine's Day! Solid chocolate (the ones without chewy or sugary centre) dont tend to stick to the teeth like more chewy treats too, making them better for your oral health. In fact, dark chocolate is an even better option, as it contains less sugar than milk chocolate!
