We followed a family of 4 Cheetahs as they struggled to cross the swollen Tarek River in the Masai Mara Np. Their bellies were full, so well fed, they were perhaps moving to what mama believed was better or safer territory. The young cubs were terrified, mom was very unsure and moved from place to place finding a safer crossing. Finally she jumped in, I watched her with tears of anxiety streaming down my face and fogging up the viewfinder. My camera followed her, but I was a...udibly aware that someone had followed her. Then I saw a cub crossing not too far behind her. Their landing spot was partially blocked by brush and rocks and tears...I counted, yes I could make out three....Then while I could not see him the last cub must have made it because I heard cheering from another truck ...then I sat on the floor of the jeep and cried with relief and pride in the determination of motherhood See more

In Search of Survival. Two Cheetah brothers, take down a full grown Topi. But Hyenas took their meal before they had any of it. I noticed earlier that the right front shoulder seemed to be giving one of the brothers some pain and difficulty...this is likely the reason that the job was not done quickly and the alarm sounds from the terrified Topi, bringing Hyenas in from all directions.
