While I have harbored thoughts of one day not feeling like an imposter when I said I was an artist, I secretly felt I would know I've reached that level when my artwork makes the header of my art school FB group. I have to say I'm just tickled to see my photo up there! lol I've arrived lol!

As a young girl, I would flick through various magazines and books and admire all of the wonderful drawings and illustrations and in some the pieces of art that were among the pages and I’d daydream. I told myself, one day I would create a landscape and someone would know what it was. That I would paint a person and someone would recognize who they were! I fancied I was going to be an artist! Imagine that. My dreams were lofty!. Well today I put the last bit of paint on a por...trait that I am really truly proud of! And I am giving myself permission to finally feel like I earned the title ‘artist’. Who would have ever believed I would be here- certainly not me! For those of you who have lofty dreams! Took a break from painting my beautiful bride and spent some fun time with my grandson who wanted to paint a picture for his teacher lol. He did such an awesome job! Credit to Art Sherpa for the inspiration.

Hey guys! Just thought I'd do a check in! I'm still working on my beautiful bride and I'm hoping to be able to share that with you in the next week! Today my FB memories were of my very first portrait of my mom and my second of my dad. I thought it would be cool to show you my first 2 and last 2 portraits so you can see how much I have improved lol.

Creating a #frontlinefacesnl portrait

Good afternoon! I finally was able to deliver my #FrontlineFacesNL portrait to this lovely RN Allison. Thank you Allison. It truly was an honour to be able to show my appreciation to you and all essential workers through this initiative.

Good Morning! For those of you who love the heat, it's looking bright and sunny and it's already 20+ and it's supposed to get hotter than yesterday! I don't know about you but I'm fearful... if I have a hot flash any time today l may not survive it lol. I figured I'd do an update on my #FrontlineFacesNL portrait. It is complete ;) but I won't post the finished portrait until it has been delivered. It truly was an honour to be able to show my appreciation to essential workers through this initiative. I'm participating in the #FrontlineFacesNL campaign which launched in the 3rd week of May. This initiative was inspired by @tomcroftartist ‘s project in the UK. Through this initiative artists and creators in Newfoundland and Labrador (the province where I live in Canada) are offering FREE PORTRAITS to our essential workers. This initiative celebrates the people who are doing so much during this strange time. My match is this lovely RN! ! As you can see I cropped the original. Good morning! When you wake up at 5 am each morning you may as well be productive! Got my kitchen cleaned and a few more layers on my #frontlinefacesnl portrait of RN Allison Hann before I start work. She's starting to come together. I have a few adjustments to make from errors in my sketch but I think it's gonna work! Enjoy this great day folks xo

Likely you can't pick the sketch out but I'm getting the big 16x40 ready for a seascape full of kelp and rocks and waves! I'll be painting this at the same time as my #frontlinefacesnl portrait which I'm hoping to get sketched by the weekend! Stay tuned :)
