One of my clients asked me: How can a personal stylist build an ideal wardrobe for someone she doesn’t know? And here is what I answered:S/he can’t. It is a valid objection. That is why before I do any consultation or personal shopping, I ALWAYS meet my client for getting to know each other. To be precise, to know you better. The purpose of my first meeting is to understand y...our personal or professional goals you set while working on your wardrobe. It is also a time when I learn about your life style, a type of work you do, and occasions where you have the most of your wardrobe needs. I also ask about your favourite colors and clothing items as my goal is to let you feel comfortable in the clothes we buy together. I won’t push a person to wear a jumpsuit if she can’t stand it since she was a toddler. We also discuss what criteria you use when you choose clothing. Is it comfort and practicality or feminine silhouettes? Is it a creative design or classic and timeless pieces? I use that as my guidance while preparing every shopping experience. To sum up, the first meeting is essential to eliminate any guesswork from my side and build a precise brief from your side. #torontopersonalshopper #torontoshops #torontolife #torontopersonalstylist See more

As a personal shopper I strive for finding new places to shop that bring good value and quality to my customers. One of the first findings was ..... A-R-I-T-Z-I-A What: ... It is a multi branded store with its own 15 brands (TNA, Babaton, Wilfred etc) and other selected labels (Levi’s, Addidas). Where: originally from Vancouver When: established in 1984 Why: We are about individual style. We’re obsessed with quality. We think shopping should be fun (Aritzia, 2020). Sizes: 3XS - XL (!!!) Target Clients: 20-40 year old women’s demographics; upper end of the mass market stores. Price Range: as low as $20 per t-shirt up to $398 per coat Shopping Experience: excellent customer service with lots of staff who are always ready to help. They even bring you another size and you don’t need to leave your fitting room. Aesthetic of the Stores: Aspirational places and boutique style ambiance where architects & designers create bespoke mix of local influences, use natural materials and art! Their shopping bags feature art as well-´exceptional! Unique Selling Points: effortless appeal, focus on fit and quality fabrics from the best factories around the world. Clothes is also current and up to date! Sustainability Aritzia places the quality product first that lasts beyond two seasons which is right for the planet . Besides, they have taken numerous positive actions ranging between banning furs in products, removing plastic from packaging, to donating products they could sell instead of burning or dumping it into landfill. Their sustainability efforts are tremendous aiming at both social &environmental causes. Disadvantages Personally, I don’t see any significant flaws. The only one is that their garment made of polyester are overpriced. #torontopersonalshopper #torontopersonalshopping #torontoclothing #torontopersonalstylist

Happy New Year, my dear friends, family, and followers! In my culture, the celebration of the coming New Year is very important, so it is for me. It is highly valued for two reasons: ... G R A T I T U D E & H O P E We are grateful for all the good things the passing year has brought, and we are optimistic about the coming year hoping that the best is yet to come . My 2020 was transformational for me, and I am grateful for the following reasons: 2020 helped me decide to become self-employed and not depend on employers’ mercy. Having lost my job at the end of 2019, I didn’t let frustration and low self-esteem to set in. Instead, I decided to write my story and be my boss . In 2020, there was a lot of self-exploration. It took me a few months to realize that I’m truly passionate about personal style and despite the huge fear, I restarted my image consulting business and now follow my passion! 2020 was a period of constant self-development and learning. I started with eLearning Developer certification and tried myself in designing my online course (launching ). Then, there was an incredible course about Visual Branding conducted by @tativisuals. I struggled but I learned how to build a personal brand in digital media with the help of smart tools and strategies. Finally, to stay current and update my knowledge in image consulting I joined a super-intensive course run by @dianagoss. I feel fortunate to find a strong community of style professionals who share their knowledge and expertise while supporting each other. The morale of 2020 is that we can do more than what we think! We just need to push our fears away and take baby steps while finding and building ourselves! Now, cheers , everybody! What are you grateful for in 2020?

Let me help you take your wardrobe from A to Z and on a budget! But, Maria, how? You may ask me... W-A-R-D-R-O-B-E C-A-P-S-U-L-E... A wardrobe capsule was invented by a British boutique owner, Susan Faux in 1970-s. It is a collection of basic clothing items which are versatile, timeless, coordinated in colors, and mix and match easily. The purpose of a wardrobe capsule has been to provide something to wear for many occasions without buying many items of clothing. A classic capsule contain at least 2 pairs of trousers, a dress or a skirt, a blazer, a coat, a knit, two pairs of shoes and two bags (Zoe, 2012). All the items in the capsule feature the following: 1basic or neutral colors 2a clean cut 3minimum details Why is a wardrobe capsule cool? it saves time to get dressed in the morning. it saves money because you have all your need. it saves your closet space! it’s a well-structured wardrobe without accidental stuff. it gives you ready made outfits for many occasions. it serves you long and can be updated easily if required. Have a look at my recent winter capsule that I built for one of my clients. I demo how to buy clothing consciously

On a shopping mission at Yorkdale mall... I have resumed my old passion - styling women and helping them look their best on a daily basis. Today, I got my first experience shopping for a client during COVID-19. This is what I observed: ... No mask , no entry some of the stores don’t allow you to try their clothing on. You buy stuff, but you try it elsewhere, and you may return in case things don’t fit within 30 days regardless if it is sales or full price. some stores do allow to try things. They closed 1/2 of the fitting rooms to manage the occupancy. Only those stores which have fitting rooms with actual doors that can be sanitized are allowed to do so. Before you enter to any store, you have to use a sanitizer... I have used a whole river of the sanitizers for the past two days... To manage the shopping for my client efficiently, I pre-purchased a number of clothing and shoes in advance from the stores where trying is not allowed, and used the stores with available facilities. Bottom line: life is going on... As human beings, we constantly adjust and adapt to new life conditions

What a lovely cultural event have George Brown students at Academic English Program organized today! Each classroom represented a country and a culture . Lots of curious things showcased: costumes, history, music, dance, food & beverages, traditional decor and pieces of art. I wish I could visit all the stands. I feel blessed to work in such a diverse environment and be a part of it.... Wearing a traditional Russian shawl today but styled it up with modern pieces. @ George Brown College School of ESL

I officially graduated from my Master’s Degree Program yesterday ! It was tough albeit a necessary life experience. Juggling kids and studies is not an easy task. I’m great full for my Mom and Dad and close friends who helped me to achieve my goal. Люблю #yorkuconvo #yorkuconvocation #yorkuconvocation2018 #torontolife @ Aviva Centre

The summer is almost over and I am concluding what accessories and pieces of clothing were most worn by me. Interestingly, the simplest pair of nude suede flat sandals and a plain white t-shirt were used several times a week. Moral: it’s worth investing your money into basic things (plain jeans, t-shirts, sneakers, jacket, tops) as they will serve you multiple times. #basicaccessories #torontostyleblogger #torontostyleadvise #torontoimageconsultant

Can’t help but share these unique bags by @anna.petrich. It is an ordinary leather bag which is hand-painted by Anna and turned into a masterpiece. It may look like it won’t fit your wardrobe easily but it is not true. you can effortlessly pair it with all your basic clothing (&&) with neutral colors (grey, black, white and nude) with any other clothing colors which are in the bag. ... I didn’t use either of these recommendations but improvised slightly differently. My message is don’t limit yourself to simple bags or accessories which you see daily worn by millions of women. Happy Mother’s Day, ladies! I’ve realized recently that my kids help me become a better person as moms have to be a role model in everything and set the right habits from the beginning. A challenging task, isn’t it? But I am certainly sure that we can do it . by @yanashutter #happymothersday @ Toronto, Ontario

This year I decided NOT to organize a birthday party for my girl, and instead booked a family resort stay at the weekend. Less hassle, cheaper, more enjoyable and more quality time with your family. #greatwolflodge at Niagara Falls is a picturesque place designed in a rustic style, aka hunters house. It’s a paradise for kids and adults alike. great , super -clean water park (we spent 8 hours); ... interactive quest (all kids have the magic wands looking for treasures ) plenty of kids activities throughout the day including bedtime story in the lobby and mini discotheque afterwards mini golf and bowling . It was a blast ! Worth visiting although it’s pricey ... In the end I asked Sara what you liked best: your birthday party or a stay in the resort. She liked the second one better. What do you, guys, think ? Are these birthday parties worth our efforts? . #familytime #familitrip #greatwolflodge #niagarafalls #niagarahotel #qualitytime @ Great Wolf Lodge Resort and Spa Inc. Statement earrings are such a necessary piece of accessories in any ladies’ wardrobe. You must have seen this pair in my New Year look, and I am wearing them again with a velvet jacket and jeans for my friends outing tonight. A white button-up basic shirt and a pair of jeans and statement earrings can be another option, you name it! The general rule of thumb is to use statement earrings with a simpler top not to make you look crowded.
