May is Asian Heritage Month Asian Heritage Month is an opportunity for all Canadians to learn more about the many achievements and contributions of Canadians of... Asian descent. The theme for 2021, "Recognition, Resilience, and Resolve", embodies the myriad of sentiments that peoples of Asian descent in Canada have experienced and honours their contributions and their diverse stories which are rooted in resilience and perseverance. Place any of these Asian Heritage Month reading list selections on hold and pick them up at your local public library - http://publiclibraries.ns.ca See more

We are lucky that we live in Canada. We can choose where we want to live, love who we want, and watch our families grow. We can look forward to a tomorrow. We don’t have to hide for years on end, be subjected to living in the path of occupation, or make the ultimate sacrifice so that others may live. Although we may be apart this year, join us in taking time to remember those whose tomorrows were cut short and give thanks for our freedom. https://www.veterans.gc.ca//sec/the-netherlands/holten-cem #wewillrememberthem

The museum weathered well after storm #teddy earlier this week. When you visit our museum, we have our Hurricane Havoc display in our foyer showing the latest storm developments in the Atlantic Ocean. Who would have thought we would be through the entire alphabet of 2020 names at this point! Notice there are no names for U, X, Y, or Z. Here’s a real-time view of the jet stream in our region for the latest: https://earth.nullschool.net/
