We Are Still Open!!! All of us at Marketplace Dentistry hope that you and you're family remain well during these uncertain times. While Ontario is currently under a Stay-at-Home Order, we wanted to ensure our loyal patients that dentistry continues to be an essential service... Marketplace Dentistry will remain OPEN and all scheduled appointments will continue. Safety remains at the heart of every decision we make - and we continue to be grateful that you have entrusted us with your care. The following changes were implemented prior to our re-opening on June 8th, 2020 and continue to be in effect: -installed Plexiglass shield at the front reception desk -installed glass doors to every operatory entrance -use of medical grade H-13 HEPA filter air purifiers -Negative Pressure operatories -moved to online and tablet based forms -frequent cleaning of common areas, high touch areas and operatories -standard Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) for dentist, dental hygienists and dental assistants include masks, N95 Respirators, gowns and face shields ( as needed) As a reminder, we continue to adhere to our virtual waiting room policy. When arriving, for your scheduled appointment please contact us via telephone or respond to the received text message to check-in. Good article from CBC. We have a long list of protection measures and equipment to keep everyone safe. Including fit tested N95 masks, HEPA air purifiers, sealed operatories, monitored negative air pressure rooms, fresh isolation gowns for every patient. First thing in the morning appointments available for seniors or for at risk individuals. So please don’t neglect your oral health. Let’s get everyone treated before small things turn into big problems.

To all our patients. Please know that we miss you and we are there for you. Carla is taking your calls and helping everyone access emergency treatment using our professional relationships with dental specialists. Of ongoing concern is the shortage of personal protective equipment available to dentists and the new requirements for us to open our doors. We are working very hard to renovate the office and procure personal protective equipment so we can get back to work. Things will look differently at Marketplace Dentistry but our friendly and caring award winning service will stay the same.

Dear Patients, As many of you may have heard, the Royal College of Dental Surgeons of Ontario (RCDSO) has recommended that all dental offices delay any non-essential dental treatments until at least the first week of April, in order to minimize the spread of the COVID-19 virus. In compliance with the RCDSO recommendation, and in regard for the health and safety of our patients and staff and the community we work and live in, we have made the difficult decision to close the of...fice until further notice. At this time, we will begin the process of rescheduling all non-essential dental appointments. Please do not come to the office. We will let you know as soon as we are open and will prioritize cancelled appointments when rescheduling. Though our office will be closed, Carla and I will remain reachable by telephone at (905)303-6080 and/or e-mail at [email protected] We will do our best to treat dental emergencies involving pain or swelling so long as we have sufficient personal protective equipment, which at this time is in very low supply. Periodontal therapy saves teeth. Many dentists would recommend removing this tooth because of its sever periodontal disease. The picture on the right shows how much bone was lost due to the gum infection. I cleaned to tooth very carefully and placed Arrestin antibiotic into the deep pocket. This tooth was loose and six months later it is firm and healthy.
