Marsha’s Book Nook & Tutoring 07.12.2020

Good morning BookNook Friends! I put my new Sandra Boynton Calendar up front and center on our fridge ready for the new year! Everyday has something to celebrate! January 2nd is World Introvert Day! Celebrating all the introverts in our lives. ... Fridge is also sporting our Music Together Of Orangeville: Family & Friends magnets! Can't wait to see the new things that they have up their sleeves for us! What else is on the fridge? Petethecattv Excited to read some new Pete the Cat books this year! Artist FABIENNEGOOD , my fabulous sister in law, definitely an artist to watch! Ontario Parks Get Outside this year! Get that #naturetherapy The owl magnet is from Explore Manitoulin Island. I really hope we get a chance to go back there as a family this year 2021! The artist's signature on the magnet is very small, but we could maybe do some exploring and find out who it is! Initials D.P. What are some of your New Year's Resolutions!? One of ours is to be more organized as a family goal! But, not sure if that can happen?! LMAO Have a great day! See you soon Marsha #raisingreaders #loveofliteracy #teach #getoutside #petethecat #readers #booklovers #newyear2021 #resolutions #love #artists #livelocal #music #family #familygoals #books #booksbooksbooks #earlychildhood #bookworms

Hello Book Nook Friends It's the last day of the year 2020! I almost can't believe it! How is everyone doing? ... Couple of things that have been on my mind as I'm putting away the Christmas and holiday decorations: WHAT do you guys do with your Christmas books?! I normally put all the Christmas DVDs and books away with the Christmas decorations, that way I find it's all fresh when we take everything out again next year. ( I do, however, leave all the winter themed books out, in case we are just in mood for a wintery book at any time during the year!) My one regret is not getting a chance to read "The Night Before Christmas" with our kids this year, we were way too tired! But there is always next year! HOW do you manage the influx of new books and toys into your space?! I just spent the greater part of this morning tidying up the living room bookshelves. I'm not very good with the Marie Kondo downsizing. This is as good as they are going to get this year! Lol And I have to confess these are just SOME of our shelves! WHAT do you do with LIBRARY books!? I like to keep one shelf a little bit empty to keep library books separate from our main collection of books. But over the holidays, the library books do migrate all over the house! (Mostly right now into Ross' room!) I really like using the library for seasonal changes and holidays because have so much to choose from, and for books you might only enjoy at one time during the year! If that makes sense! I know 2020 had been a rollercoaster ride for so many of us! I started this Book Nook because reading with my family has really been a saving grace for me. When I feel like I have nothing left to give, I can always still sit down with my kids and read a book . Helping them learn and keeping us stay grounded! I hope the Book Nook can help some of you as well! Happy New Year's Eve See you in 2021!! #shelfie #books #booksbooksbooks #raisingreaders #booknook
