Aaand the old roof is off! Old trusses are out. The light you see shining is coming from the new half of the shop! Things are slowly but surely coming along. Next, the old rear wall comes out!

Were so excited! Were finally going to insulate our shop expansion as the weather has been so warm. Were hoping to be able to move into our full shop space early in the new year! Cant wait to blow out that back wall! 12 years in the making, but whos counting?

Continuing with our jeep project, transfer case main shaft was bent. This was causing a vibration only under load over 80km/hr. Most likely the cause of the bent shaft is due to a failed u-joint or severe impact with a rock while 4x4ing. These pictures show the old bent shaft, the new shaft & all of the internal gears.

After replacing side bearings & pinion bearings back together it goes. Proper torque procedures were followed in order to achieve 35 inch pounds of drag on the pinion. Also checked contact pattern between ring & pinion to ensure long lasting gear life & silent operation. Almost time for test drive!

More pictures of the damaged bearing races on our jeep project. Caused by lack of fluid changes. This kind of damage will give driveline vibration, especially at highway speeds. Moral of the story is: change your oil/fluids regularly.

Our jeep project. Front differential rebuild. Notice the wear on the bearing races. This caused a lot of vibration & noise. After we replace the bearings, it will be whisper quiet! Normal for a jeep. Lol

Time to start thinking about winter tires!
