Matawatchan Hall 24.05.2021

Well here we go again. All activities at the Matawatchan Hall have been put on hold for now. If all goes well, our next events are a Saturday Social Distancing on May 8 from 10 am - noon (by then we'll be very happy to don a mask and share some snacks and a morning with friends). And we all look forward to the annual Plant Sale on Saturday May 29. We are still in the planning stages on that one. If you would like to get a $5 table and sell your wares, please contact Gitte at 343-988-8303 to reserve one.

We will be adding more matinées in the future. We get an average of 7 to 8 couples who enjoy the movies and popcorn, socials and baked goods. It's quite a manageable number, so there is plenty of room for more. It's nice to see more and more people getting their vaccines to make it even safer. Please join us!

Please join us for Saturday Social Distancing on February 27 from 10 to noon with baked goods, coffee and tea. This will be followed by a Matawatchan Matinée featuring the award-winning documentary, "Standing in the Shadows of Motown" at 2 pm with popcorn, coffee, and tea available for purchase. Bring your own pop if you would prefer that. A suggested $5 donation for the afternoon. Masks required except while snacking when seated and distanced. Mark your calendars for more Saturday Socials, March 13 and 27.

We can resume socially distanced events beginning on Wednesday February 10. Please check www.matawatchan.ca for updates. Well done people of Renfrew County!

Matawatchan Hall 07.04.2021

As people likely know, Renfrew County has been declared a lock down zone. From December 26 until January 23 the Matawatchan Hall will be closed, so our Saturday Social and the movie showing that were planned for January 9 have been cancelled. There are very few cases of the virus in Renfrew County, but this will discourage people from visiting here and will ensure that anyone who visited a red or orange zone over the holidays will self-quarantine.
