Hailee & Breton How has motherhood changed you ? ‘I think simpler question would be how hasn’t it changed me. For me, motherhood has truly led to a transformation and to a whole new sense of purpose. Not only to keep a human alive, but how to help that human become the best he can be. An overwhelming task if you think too hard about it! Which I, of course always do. Literally my every move and decision affects him. I have a whole new appreciation for the depths of my parent...s’ love and sacrifice for my brother and I. Something I truly could not appreciate until becoming a mom. Priorities change quickly and you realize what really matters. Relationships also change, some grow, some fade, and some are created. But one thing is for sure; if they aren’t enriching, they no longer last. Motherhood is hard and moms need support so if someone or something isn’t making me a better mom, they simply don’t have a place in my life. This has probably been the single biggest change for me. Because the only person who suffers from me not being the best mom I can be is my son, and that will never be okay with me. I’m not sure I’d recognize who I was before becoming a mom but I do know I wouldn’t go back to pre-Breton me for anything in the world. Motherhood is such a wild ride, but it’s one of the few in my life that I know I was meant to be on. I’m grateful every single day that it has found me’. See more
