The Grade 6s took advantage of the warm weather to get some work done on their paddles this week. They are coming along very nicely!

Today at MDPS, the ELK classes tapped a maple tree in the yard. We have been learning about how maple syrup is made. The sap is running well!

NEW INFORMATION FROM PREMIER'S ANNOUNCEMENT: Dear Parents and Guardians, The Province of Ontario has declared a second state of emergency and imposed a stay-at-home order effective Thursday, Jan. 14, 2021 at 12:01 a.m., as outlined in a provincial news release.... An extension of remote learning was announced for schools in Southern Ontario, but schools in the north, including Near North District School Board, will continue to operate in-person. MacTier Public School will continue to engage in virtual learning. Below are changes that affect staff and students in NNDSB: - Masks are now required for students in Grades 1-3 (in-person learning) - Masks are now required outdoors (in-person learning) - There are enhanced screening protocols (in-person learning) - There is expanded targeted testing (in-person learning) We will continue to share information with you as it becomes available. Please know that we take the safety of our students, staff, and community with the utmost importance. Due to Covid, MDPS's Remembrance Day looked a little different this year. Thank you to Mme. Laiken and the 4/5/6 French Immersion class for facilitating this virtual presentation.

Just a reminder that students ARE allowed to wear their Halloween costumes to school tomorrow. However, we ask that you not send any accessories (brooms, swords, etc.) Also covid masks are still to be worn. Lastly, we ask that you NOT send in any Halloween treats to be shared with the class. We can’t wait to see everyone dressed up tomorrow
