How to make your workouts shorter AND more effective: One of the chief complaints people have when it comes to exercise is they feel they don’t have time to do everything they need to do Sometimes this means they end up not working out at all (this is NOT the way) and other times this means they end up not training certain key muscle groups in order to save on time (this is also NOT the way).... Neglecting to train certain muscle groups will result in severe muscular imbalances and unaesthetic proportions. If you’re on a strict schedule, however, or simply don’t want to spend as much time working out, there is salvation: COMPOUND EXERCISES Compound exercises are exercises that work multiple muscle groups at the same time, which makes them ideal for individuals on a time budget. There are a million variations you can do to change their level of difficulty and tailor them to your needs. Shown above is a variation of a dumbbell chest press. While the press is already, technically, a compound movement (it works pecs, front delts, and tris), raising your knees at a 90 degree angle and tilting up your pelvis will turn the exercise into a core workout as well, making it a super efficient movement.
