When we have a goals that we are actively working towards, the journey and path to get there, will look different for everyone. Progress is not always linear. Baby's got BACK! Not all workouts need to be high intensity! Sometimes it's about working on and activating areas that need extra help and attention! If you work a seated job and/or sit for long hours, you might have what some call 'sleepy butt syndrome'. Your quads take on all the work and burden instead of working as a team with your glutes and hams. You probably also habe tight hip flexors, maybe experience some lower back pain, and other issues. ... Most of the exercises that you see here help with activating and strengthening your beautiful backside! I have been experiencing a HUGE improvement with my own posture, chronic back pain, AND I have been experiencing LESS knee pain! Sometimes it's not how intensely you can work, but about improving your quality of life and getting your body to move more efficiently, effectively, and with less pain! And in return, you get to enjoy the greater things in life, enjoy experiencing life with your loved ones, and spend less time (and money) on medical treatment to fix YEARS (sometimes a lifetime) of improper movement. So... We humans are social creatures. When changing our lifestyle/maintaining a certain lifestyle, a huge part of being successful in reaching our goals, is being surrounded by a strong support network. Making important changes to align ourselves to our goals can be a lot more challenging when we are surrounded by people who consciously/subconsciously sabotage our efforts. ("Pizza/whatever fill-in-the-blank junk food won't ruin your efforts", "It's my/your birthday - what's anoth...er slice of cake", "You can skip another day of working out/going to the gym. I feel like you're avoiding me and spending time with me since you decided to work on improving your health" etc) Some people will even GUILT you for prioritizing your self care so you can become a healthier version of yourself. A lot of the times they are not ready to make the effort in changing their own situation they're not happy with and would much rather have company in their own dissatisfaction. Not all of us are blessed with a support system at home. It's important to create and honour our boundaries while seeking a community who WILL motivate and inspire you to keep climbing out of stagnation. Sometimes, when the people closest to us witnesses the joy and satisfaction we gain from our own efforts, is enough to inspire them to rise up and not only meet us where we are, but sometimes exceed their own expectations. One of my favourite sessions are with couples. It's a unique date night idea, they motivate each other, and their bond with each other strengthens along with their own individual health and fitness. Not only do they become physically stronger... But their mental and emotional well-being improves significantly as well. They become each other's support system and their own children accept that as the norm. Success can be quite challenging when we struggle alone.
