Outdoor Labyrinth building With Tracey Cook Learn to Build your own labyrinth as a practice in integrating the way your own life journey unfolds.... The labyrinth is an ancient archetypical map for the healing journey, the soul’s path, the journey of life. Over thousands of years, millions and countless more have entered the sacred space of the labyrinth with high purpose. When we step onto the spiralling path with intention, we step into that pool of energy. To the degree we are consciously, curiously, and joyously willing to walk with it. The energy of the labyrinth may offer us support in times of transition, illness, questioning, grieving, celebration. The labyrinth is not the same as a maze. A maze is a puzzle with many possible routes, tricks, dead ends and wrong turns. A person who enters a maze might become lost, befuddled, confused, or walk right past the exit. Mazes are often constructed with high walls -and the disorientation of the maze-goer is intensified. We don’t see.We can’t trust. How will we ever get out? A labyrinth has only one path - one curling, flowing, winding path spiralling to a centre which is always visible. Walkers of the labyrinthine path relax into the knowing that even though it may feel that they are off course, this path will always lead them into the heart, and it will just as surely lead them back out again. There is no deception or trickery on this journey, no mistakes, and no decisions that must be made in the sacred space of the labyrinth. The mind can relax. The breath may quiet. The body drops into its own rhythm, and the heart is moved to soften open. Walkers find easier access to their intuition and inner knowing. When: May 14 noon-2 pm Location: Witty’s Beach - Witty’s will be great because at low tide there will be so much gorgeous sand for many big labyrinths. 30 minute drive from MA. Pricing: $40 meet at witty’s nature house at 11:45 am Click the link in our bio to sign up!

Our next 200 hour YTT starts May 31-July 2 There are still a few spots left Blending the sacred traditional teachings of yoga and the perspective of the modern practitioner, students are able to see that the questions that were being asked about the nature of existence are truly timeless. Why am I here? Where did I come from? What am I meant to do? What is my body saying yes to and what is it resisting? These are important reflections as we navigate our lives.... Working with small groups we’ve been able to create a hands on curriculum, offering valuable classroom teaching experience and mentoring. Students will explore various topics including: -Certification in Vinyasa (flow) - Sound healing -Yoga history -Chanting and Mantra. -Pranayama Techniques (breath) -Meditation techniques. -Yoga lifestyle. -Personal development -Ayurvedic principles. -Anatomy and Physiology. - Trauma Informed Teachings. -Trans Inclusivity. -Cultural Awareness in Yoga -Body Positivity Anatomy and physiology will be taught by a local Naturopathic Doctor and yoga teacher extraordinaire, Carrie Watkins ND E-RYT 500. Ayurveda is taught be Sarada Pranav Sound Healing is taught be Pilar Munoz, Chantelle Mussell, and Katyanna Ryan. A key component of our training program involves learning how to teach yoga in a trauma-sensitive fashion. This addition will give a deeper understanding of the physiological and mental implications of trauma and how this may show up in your classroom. Having this perspective can also serve teachers to work with both marginalized populations (those living with addictions, mental health challenges, etc), as well as with students who may be recovering from physical or emotional trauma, grief or loss. This is a perfect first step for teachers who are interested in doing yoga outreach or work with individuals in specialized settings. Cupping Therapy So much of what we do in traditional Chinese medicine is use the resources already within you to call in your own healing forces. It is often a redistribution of energy with the underlying belief that the life force that animates you, is in fact very powerful and has every thing you need to carry you until the moment that the forces of yin and yang separate and you return back to the Tao (the everything.)... Cupping therapy uses a strong suction on the oiled skin to form surface level bruises. These bruises call in your immune defenses and clean up areas that may have been holding long standing pain. This could feel like you are accessing a whole new area of space within your body. Check out our booking through the holidays! We are here to treat you by @kimjayphoto

So often, we engage in a language that neglects our bodies. Being in tune with the body and its cycles requires a deep listening that may seem totally foreign to the untrained ear. Owning and operating a wellness clinic has been my dream since I was 19. ... At first, I looked at buying property in Guatemala, to be closer to nature. My path ultimately led to an urban environment in the heart of Chinatown in Victoria, BC. For me, having holistic practices and yogic practices under one roof make so much sense, as I see yoga as a branch of holistic medicine. There are many pathways to train your ear to listen. Part of this is being still and meditating in the fluctuating sensations of your body. It puts us in an intimate connection. Stagnant forces that can cause pain and sickness are relieved by movement. This is where Asana shines. We place our body in a sacred way to facilitate movement and tune into subtle sensations. Bodywork, like in the practices of Ayurvedic medicine and Traditional Chinese Medicine work in this way. Guiding our energy back into a harmonious state. Herbal medicine is yet another branch that uses plant medicines to communicate harmony to our body. Counselling uses the language we know best to put certain thought patterns that may cause harm into clearer organization. Each branch works with the others. Come find your medicine. Virtual restorative yoga and sound tonight with @littlepili As we embrace yin season and the darkest time of the year the body needs more rest This is a wonderful time to get still and listen to the subtle energies that are always in a dance within the vision of your experience.... When we decide to allow the natural influence of the seasons to have an effect on us we may notice that our habits change, and the sound of the atmosphere has different rhythms. The winter is slow and rich inviting the vital nature down into our roots to become nourished and revitalized. The sound is deep and slow. Spring has the sound of ignition and awakening, marrying the sounds of the deep soul of winter with the popcorn like rhythm of higher pitch frequencies coming through in a staccato march. Summer is the unapologetic pulse that sings loudly and rapidly through our very cells encouraging us to dance, to sing, to move with a faster beat. Fall gives the sound of longing as the echoes of the vibrant sounds of summer fade and we prepare to meet the dark. We embrace change on every level as the world morphs. Every season is significant and has its own medicine. Every season gives you the opportunity to meet another face to yourself. Embrace the dark, the shadow, the mystery that is when the accustomed eyes don’t see as well.

Every person vibrates through the world like a musical note. Sometimes we are in harmony with our environment and other times there is a dissonance. So often this interplay can go without being directly noticed. We may see that we are moody or in a funk but perhaps there is not such a clear recognition that there isn’t really something wrong with you or your environment, it just doesn’t create music. This can help to guide what is for you and what is not. Many of us at M... share our music, and it can be such a vulnerable process. Composing music allows you to be uniquely seen by vibrating an experience or impression you have had to others. The song of someone’s inner life displayed in a way that can be clearly heard can impact so deeply. Because so often others can relate and find an expression they couldn’t access before. Whether you like or dislike the music played is irrelevant. The clarity that is being shared surpasses so many forms of communication. Keep vibrating your song and share your gifts. The world needs you. @kimjayphoto

We have decided to donate your late fees to our scholarship programs. If you cannot make it to class and cancel inside the 8 hour window, know that your fees are going into bringing better access to holistic wellness for the trans community and single parents. It also helps sponsor students of the South Asian, BIPOC, and trans community to receive scholarships to our yoga teacher training programs.... We don’t like fining you, but your efforts of trying to be in class still make a difference. Our journey on the planet is never on pause. It is a constant fluctuation of opposites that interchange seamlessly and you are the consciousness at the centre. 2020 is not a pause. You are still here breathing. You can dream still. You can still have ambitions. You can experience all the things as you are intended to. You now exist in a story where a pandemic has come into your reality. Just as all life has a will to survive, it is no different.... And as you are writing this story, watch the tendency to omit certain realities. We are here to embrace fully what has been put before us. You can have fear and anger. You can get fatigued and want to hide. You can pick up bad habits and drop them again. There is no particular way anything should look. Things may look different now, but what did anyone ever really know about the future anyway? In this shared reality, each one of us has purpose and that has not changed due to external factors. On the contrary, we may be more united in some ways than ever. Write this chapter with your whole heart knowing deeply that there is no time wasted here while you’re in a body, and that you are here for your own magic. Contribute greatly. Love fiercely. Believe you are here for a reason. by @kimjayphoto
