THE MEDIA TEAM put together a compilation video giving us a quick but grand look into our 10 days of SOAR. It's a great way to launch into sharing what these 10 days were all about. Give it a look and a repost :).

Dear Parents, guardians, family and friends of SOAR Heartland 2015 participants, It has been a full 10 days of close community, service and experiencing transfo...rmation from the INSIDE OUT. Heartland’s theme this year comes from Romans 12:1-2 MSG, take your everyday, ordinary lifeyour sleeping, eating, going-to-work, and walking-around lifeand place it before God as an offering. Embracing what God does for you is the best thing you can do for him. Don’t become so well-adjusted to your culture that you fit into it without even thinking. Instead, fix your attention on God. You’ll be changed from the inside out Change takes time and change requires support. We’ve lived full days. Many of us have colds, coughs and are feeling fatigued. However, we’ve also been filled up with daily worship, teaching, great food, team discussions and lots of new experiences. All the SOAR alumni and volunteers have served well and demonstrated God’s love. Here are a few tips to help SOAR alumni transition to home, school, church and work: 1. Please be PATIENT with your SOAR alumnus. It is time to come down from a unique experience and moodiness or excitement are few of the extremes that can be experienced. 2. REST will be important. Rest is anything that is life-giving and provides time/space for reflection and processing of the last two weeks. 3. Allow the stories to be shared in increments over time. Whether your alumnus is quiet or talkative, it helps to be curious and ask specific questions over a few days instead of trying to get all the news in one sitting. What questions can you ask?... a. Tell me about your team? b. What are three highlights? Three lowlights? c. Tell me about orientation, the learning tour, and the workshops? d. Tell me about your ministry hosts and assignment? e. Did you make any new friends? f. What was the food like? g. What was the worship like? h. What was the teaching like? 4. C.R.A.F.T. is an acronym everyone learned as a way to transition. As we leave SOAR Heartland and move on toward home, school, church and work it is time to Celebrate, Reconcile, Affirm others, say Farewell, and consider our Transitions. Join the process and ask about CRAFT. 5. PRAY. Thank you for your prayers, curiousity, volunteerism and support for your alumnus and the whole community of SOAR. We thoroughly enjoyed serving this year at SOAR Heartland and thank God and the whole community of support that made this all possible. Please enjoy the photos, videos and blogs associated with this FaceBook page and others linked to it. Lloyd Letkeman, mission mobilizer for MB Mission Central Canada
