McGill Bankers in Asia (MBIA) is now opening applications for its 2019 - 2020 Coaching Program. MBIA is a non-profit initiative that aims to provide career advice for McGill students who are interested in working in capital markets in the APAC region. We believe a career is a series of apprenticeships, and hence we introduce a unique 1:1 mentorship program that pairs students with our alumni mentors who have experience at top financial institutions (Goldman Sachs, J.P. Morgan..., UBS, Moelis and Company, Bridgewater Associates, Warburg Pincus, RBC, Evercore, PJT, HSBC, etc.). We also offer training materials and internal referrals to help members gain a competitive edge throughout the recruitment process. In the past year, our mentees have received 10+ offers from numerous investment banks in the region, and we strive to continue the success in the coming years. We have all come a long way since last year - our U0/1 analysts did some great internships as well. This summer, MBIA held two mentors meetup events in both Hong Kong and Toronto. We would like to thank every mentor/mentee who made it to the events and the executive team for organizing them! We are excited to work with all the mentors in the upcoming semester to provide a strong professional network for our mentees and we can't wait to see what our mentees will achieve in the near future!

This is the problem we wish to solve. For the past two years, according to the LinkedIn Search, around 90 students at McGill received front-office offers (Investment Banking/Sales and Trading/Wealth Management/Equity Research/Private Equity) following their graduation. Out of these 97 offers, only 3 are from the APAC region, and all three of them have delayed their graduation for one year. Surprisingly, despite McGill's reputation in North America, almost no one has ever heard of McGill in Asia. We want to challenge the status quo via MBIA and increase the brand image of McGill in Asia. No matter if you are a current McGill student or recent alumni, currently working in APAC or trying to break into the region, we strongly encourage you to follow this page and come to our information session on March 17th and March 20th!
