Today at 1:55pm there will be an emergency alert system test for the National Alert Ready System. So, when your phone starts buzzing...it’s only a test. To help improve the overall Alert Ready system, a third party partner is conducting a short survey about the test. You can access the survey via a link on the following website... http://www.alertready.ca
We are so fortunate to live in such a wonderful corner of the world. Please share this amazing snapshot of the beauty of Richmond County and it's people. "We All Live Here" - and for those who don't, we welcome you!
I know many of you receive frequent scam/sales calls and it is easy to simply not answer or hang up when we see a suspicious number. Hopefully having the heads up will encourage you to participate in this worthwhile survey. Your opinion matters!
Reminder, today at 4 is the deadline to apply for these committees. http://www.richmondcounty.ca/request-for-members-at-large.h
I was honored to represent Richmond County and lay a wreath after the cenotaph services in Louisdale, Whiteside and West Bay this afternoon. The Royal Canadian Legion Branch 47 hosted a lovely service at each location and the community turnout was wonderful. Although we weren’t able to commemorate Remembrance Day in all of our usual ways, there was comfort to many, that these cenotaph services were (for the most part) the same as previous years. Everyone noted that the weathe...r conditions were definitely an improvement - my old friend Donnie Pottie thought that the last time we had these temperatures on Nov 11 was in 1956.... In his livestream address this morning George McPhee noted, Remembrance Day should be every day of the year....so we never forget the sacrifices made for our freedom. That message will stay with me... Thanks to all of the members of the Royal Canadian Legion for all that they do to support their members and the community. Thanks to Colin MacDougall for these photos AND for creating the amazing banners throughout Louisdale. #lestweforget2020
