Potential Exposures to COVID-19: April 20, 21, & 22 Nova Scotia Health Public Health is advising of more potential exposures to COVID-19 at Membertou Sport and Wellness Centre on the following dates and times: April 20, April 21 and April 22 between 3:30 pm and 5:30 pm.... It is anticipated that anyone exposed to the virus at this location on the named dates and times may develop symptoms up to, and including, May 8. Regardless of whether or not you have COVID-19 symptoms, those present during these times are required to self-isolate while waiting for their test result. If you get a negative result, you do not need to keep self-isolating. If you get a positive result, you will be contacted by Public Health about what to do next. COVID-19 Facility Update: Earlier today, The Membertou Sports and Wellness Centre made the decision to close this weekend to conduct a deep clean of their facil...ity. As a result the Membertou YMCA Branch will be closed Saturday April 24 and Sunday April 25. We will re-evaluate Sunday April 25th with the plan to re-open on Monday. Please note that all programs at the Frank Rudderham Branch remain open. With the rise of COVID-19 cases in Nova Scotia, it is important that we remain diligent in following public health rules and help keep our community, staff, patrons and players safe. Upon entering our facility, please keep the following rules in mind:

Public Skating starts tomorrow, Monday, October 5th All skaters entering the facility must be wearing a mask and can only remove it once on the ice. Skaters are also asked to sign in at the reception desk, for contact tracing purposes. There is a slight increase in price due to increased staff and cleaning products required to meet public health protocols.... There is limited hours and there will be no family skating on the weekend as we have to control numbers. This also allows us time to ensure the cleaning protocols are followed. An exception to this rule is parents/guardians of the U7-11 leagues and younger (IP, Novice and Atom). One parent or guardian will be permitted to take their player into the facility, assist them with necessary equipment (skate tying, securing helmets, etc.), and then w...ill be kindly asked to respect the rules and leave their child to go on the ice, and return to pick them up in the parking lot following their ice time. All good things must come to and end... The Cape Breton Eagles Hockey School finishes tomorrow for another year. A big thanks to Matthew for helping behind the scenes! From getting jerseys to tying skates (lots of skates!!) to making sure everyone was on the ice at the right time - he did it all to ensure everything ran smoothly. We hope everyone had a great week and learned lots of new skills!
