The first buckets breaking ground in beautiful Kelowna! Sunshine and warm weather in the forecast, everyone is all smiles!!!!
Throwing back to summer of 2018 when we were busy helping our neighbors, Lustre Products, get into their new building. We came into this project at the very beginning stripping the site, importing subgrade materials, doing a phased preload and then raising the grade of the entire site. We also did all the building prep, brought storm, sewer and sanitary services to the building and ended with parking lot and sub-base prep. The second photo is the beautiful building that exist...s today and the last photo is what the site looked like at the beginning. #metriccivil #lowermainlandconstruction #fraservalleyconstruction #civilconstruction #healthandsafety #constructionsafety #lustreproducts #siteprep #siteservices #vancouverconstruction
It may not be the biggest or most impressive piece of equipment on the team, but the 1000-lb plate tamper is definitely a key player, especially in tight or confined spaces where a roller doesn't quite fit. #metriccivil #lowermainlandconstruction #fraservalleyconstruction... #civilconstruction #healthandsafety #constructionsafety #tamper #compactor #vancouverconstruction See more

Thanks to cooperative weather our crew was able to complete the off-site paving at csqnel Elementary and the new South Albion Community Center just in time for students to return back to school following spring break. Safety hazards don't just exist inside a trench. With deep excavations, it's important to keep workers up at the top of the trench safe as well. To mitigate the risk caused by deep excavations, engineered guard-rail systems are installed directly onto the shoring system, protecting workers from accidental falls into the open excavation. #metriccivil #trenchsafetytuesday... #lowermainlandconstruction #fraservalleyconstruction #civilconstruction #shoringsafety #trenchshoring #guardrails #vancouverconstruction See more
We're not just all about digging holes. Site prep is a big part of what we do, and when it comes to pushing dirt and grading sites, nothing beats the reliability and maneuverability of our Komatsu D51PX Dozer. #metriccivil #lowermainlandconstruction #fraservalleyconstruction... #civilconstruction #dozer #heavyequipment #siteprep #vancouverconstruction See more
Two heads are always better than one. Using a spotter, even when you don't think it is "necessary" helps to improve accuracy, keeps things running smoothly, and assures a higher level of site safety. #metriccivil #lowermainlandconstruction #fraservalleyconstruction #civilconstruction... #healthandsafety #constructionsafety #communication #vancouverconstruction See more
Beautiful crisp day out in South Dewdney! Mid-way through clearing a large property, our team is ensuring everything is properly graded and compacted so the site is ready for future use. #metriccivil #civilconstruction #lowermainlandcivil... #vancouvercivilconstruction See more
Installing pipe at a depth of 6 meters requires an engineered system like the slide rail system used on this project. In addition to the trench shielding, workers are required to wear harnesses for emergency rescue, gas monitors are used to ensure the environment they are working in is safe from atmospheric hazards and fresh air blower fans provide a steady flow and exchange of fresh air to the workers below. A lot of assessment, preparation and constant monitoring goes into ...a project of this scope, but by having these controls in place our workers can have piece of mind and are able to focus on the task at hand. #trenchsafetytuesday #metriccivil #civilconstruction #lowermainlandcivil #vancouvercivilconstruction #trenchsafety #excavationsafety #excavation #undergroundutilities
For better accuracy and precision, our survey crews use total stations, laser levels and robotic survey equipment for everything from cut and fills, road grades, curb and gutter to manhole layouts and pipe alignments. #metriccivil... #civilconstruction #lowermainlandcivil #vancouvercivilconstruction #surveyequipment #excavationsafety #excavation #undergroundutilities #spectra See more
Today we stop to remember those who courageously fought for the freedoms, opportunities and comforts we enjoy today. Lest we forget. #weremeber #remembranceday
We’re growing! Our office is currently under construction to add additional work stations and functionality to our space. We’re excited to share the finished results in a few weeks, but for now, here’s a throwback to the original renovation from four years ago. #throwbackthursday #metriccivil #vancouvercivilconstruction ... #lowermainlandcivil #fraservalleyconstruction #chilliwack #healthandsafety See more

Personal protective equipment is mandatory on all our job sites to keep our workers safe. But not all PPE is created equal- or protects from all hazards. Hand injuries account for 80% of all occupational injuries since the hands are engaged in almost all activities on the job. There are many dangerous conditions on the job to which the hand is always exposed- sharp edges, pinch points, protruding objects, splinters, hazardous materials, exposed blades on unguarded machinery, ...and many more. Assessing and evaluating these hazards is a part of every morning's toolbox talk, and selecting the necessary PPE, including the appropriate hand protection, is one of the many ways these hazards are mitigated. #metriccivil #lowermainlandconstruction #fraservalleyconstruction #civilconstruction #healthandsafety #constructionsafety #communication #vancouverconstruction #handprotection #safetytraining
Since making the switch to a paperless safety system, the effectiveness of our occupational health and safety program has improved dramatically. Workers appreciate the ease of using an Ipad or smartphone to complete daily equipment maintenance logs, site safety inspections, and record their daily tailgate meetings and safety talks. An added bonus is our management benefits from the real-time access to signed documentation to monitor what’s happening out in the field and to ad...dress any concerns that may arise. Thanks to SiteDocs we can spend more time working safely and less time shuffling papers. #metriccivil #healthandsafety #constructionsafety #civilconstruction #lowermainlandcivil #vancouvercivilconstruction
We have been using SiteDocs for several years and would never go back!
In a continued effort to keep our employees and work sites safe, all workers complete daily health assessments to help lower the risk of Covid exposure and spread in our communities. We also remain vigilant on-site with increased sanitation and hygiene practices to assure the safest possible environment for everyone. #weareallinthistogether #healthandsafety
