Mexi-Can Vet Project 25.11.2020

JBAR is so very fortunate! Kate Noble, the author of the delightful Duffy the Dragon books has offered to donate 30% of all the sales of her books to help with our animal rescue. Each book can be personally dedicated making it a very personal gift that will delight the child in your life (or in you!) and also help our animals in need. A very special gift that will keep on giving!

Many thanks to Dr. Aldo for sterilizing 308 animals during Jaltemba Bay Animal Rescue's 6/7 week free spay and neuter clinic. The response was overwhelming. D...ue to so many people still requesting an appointment to sterilize their animals, we will resume our JBAR clinic in a few weeks once Dr. Aldo has a well-deserved rest. Many thanks to all of you who have donated money so we can continue to offer free spay and neuters. See more

Attention outdoor enthusiasts! Spear grass is a type of grass that grows around the Victoria area and is characterized as having a sharp, barbed seed. What make...s spear grass dangerous to pets is that it can stick to your pet’s fur and subsequently burrow deep into the skin because of its barbed awn. The body will start an inflammatory response to the foreign object and potentially cause a serious infection that is very painful. Most often, Spear grass will burrow into the fur around the feet but it has also been found in ears, eyes and noses! Make sure you check your pet for spear grass after it has been running in the grass! @ Victoria, British Columbia See more

Thanks to our amazing volunteers, JBAR has now distributed over 2,061 pounds of pet food in the local area! Cesar O. Perez Novoa and his wife Angela are overs...eeing soup kitchens in 12 different locations serving thousands of meals each week. We are doing our best to keep up to these, and other locations, to make sure the critters get some chow too. A sincere thank you to everyone who has contributed kibble and/or money to help make this happen. You're helping to deliver lots of smiles and wagging tails. See more
