This will minimize sound reflection and control noise! We'd like to thank everyone for their kind thoughts and words as we postpone our production of "It's A Wonderful Life: A Live Radio Play". We at Medicine Hat Musical Theatre would like to publicly thank the cast and crew for their time and dedication. They were always respectful of socially distanced rehearsals and mask policies in the Playhouse, and worked hard at home between rehearsals to maximize rehearsal time. During times they had to be in isolation, they made arrangements to 'virtually attend' rehearsals, and all did so with a positive attitude, knowing that we could be forced into postponement at any moment. Their infectious dedication is truly appreciated, and is what make the volunteers in this community so fantastic. Thank you, cast and crew. A standing ovation to you. The show will go on... sometime!

Cum on feel the noize! This year we installed a brand new sound board, with 72 inputs and 32 outputs to accommodate larger shows in our space. Our business is mainly musicals, so sound quality is important to get right, so that the audience hears every word, sung or spoken. Very important for shows such as 2016's Rock of Ages! Woah! A monolith sighting at the Playhouse!? This monolith showed up at the MHMT Playhouse, amongst the stored sets from our postponed show, "Monty Python's Spamalot!"! Normally a rehearsal space that doubles as the backstage cast and crew green room, this part of the Playhouse is presently more cluttered than usual, because we are storing all of the sets for our production of Spamalot! We are not dead yet! Announcement regarding It's A Wonderful Life: A Live Radio Play: Given the rising numbers of COVID19 cases in our area and province, along with enhanced safety restrictions being applied to keep our community safe, we are currently monitoring and assessing the best course of action to keep our cast, crew, patrons, and our entire theatre family safe. Please stay tuned for an official announcement and plan regarding our upcoming show. As always we appreciate your patience and support in these unique and difficult times.

We would like to sincerely thank everyone who came out to help us clean up the Playhouse this weekend! We are a registered charity made up entirely of volunteers, and do all maintenance and cleaning ourselves. Many standing ovations to those who generously donated their Saturday rolling up their sleeves and scrubbing the building to make the MHMT Playhouse sparkle! You're the real stars!

Today I'm hanging on to the music! This room in the Playhouse plays double duty! During our performances, it is our Box Office room, where our dedicated team of Front of House volunteers ensure that your admission into the Playhouse goes smoothly! Once a month, it becomes Mission Control for the Board of Directors, and the epicenter of all of the decision-making for our company- -the Board Room! Although our board members haven't had the opportunity to meet in such close quarters since March, having a room that serves multiple purposes lets us utilize as much space in the Playhouse as possible! -Ruby Garland

Hi Patrons! As with all new systems, we had a couple of glitches when tickets initially went on sale, thank you so much for your patience while we quickly scrambled to make the fixes immediately! Originally there were not dates published to select, we have corrected this, and all dates should now appear. If you purchased a ticket and there is no date on the ticket, please go to the website and select "resend ticket", and it should be re-sent with the proper date! We thank everyone for being so patient with our new system, and we'll respond to any and all questions and concerns as quickly as we can!

Costumes, Costumes, Costumes!!! We've had some wild wardrobes, and it's all thanks to our incredible wardrobe teams! Laurel and co. do such an incredible job researching periods, fabrics and styles, and either finding or creating costumes that take our actors and audiences straight into the story! We've got such a massive costume bank that we have floor and ceiling racks to accommodate such a wonderful and wild inventory!
