Meeka was adopted from the Midland Centre last November after she came to us through our Animal North Network Her Mom was a volunteer with us, and fell instantly in love with her. She would come out every day just to walk her, and spend time with her, and when the day came, she was able to adopt her and bring her home forever. She has a touch or arthritis that her Mom is taking care of, and she is truly living her best life. We wish you all the happiness in the world Meeka!

Thank you so much to the @Rotary Club of Midland for providing a grant of $2,500.00 to the Midland Centre to assist with costs relating to COVID-19! These funds are going toward retrofits to the centre so that we can facilitate limited contact adoptions, as well as provide additional safety equipment for our staff. We appreciate these funds more than you know, and the animals and our community thank you so very much.

Awwww. Tuckered pup! This is Lady and she sent us an update on her new home! Getting the hang of this place. They bought me a new bed that fits me better today. Did walkies on the trail and learned about going in the UTV although mommy says I have to wait until it's warmer to go for rides. . We’re so glad you’re loving your new home and thanks to your new parents for all the love!!!!

Hint: She'll have short burst of energy and then end up like this for 2 hours...

It’s Christmas Eve!!! Everyone is so excited, even the pets! Just remember a few things to ensure a safe and happy holiday with no vet visits! Make sure your tree is secure and not tippy so it doesn’t fall on anyone (even if the cat jumps into it). Tinsel is a real no no for animals, as it can result in tummy troubles. As cute as they are, people food is not always best for your furry babies, so make sure you have lots of animal friendly treats ready for them too around meal times! We hope you and your families have the most wonderful Christmas ever, and we look forward to hopefully seeing you in the New Year sometime!

It has been just over 1 year since I was lucky enough to adopt shy guy Xavier and bring him to his furever home. After a very rocky start, some time, and a whole lot of love & patience, he is the best little companion a girl could ask for. He is now "King of the house", such a sweet little guy, & a big snuggler. It has been a pleasure & so rewarding to see him grow more comfortable and confident. From his crazy, cute antics to his adorable, sweet snuggles he fills my life wit...h so much joy & love. So glad that this little ball of fluff "choose" me (when he licked my forehead during one visit) to be his adopter. Looking forward to many more memories with my Smelly Cat! <3 The last attached photo: Now that he is no longer afraid of the fireplace he is turning into an "old man" loves to sit and watch the fire, as well as take naps by it. Signed, Xavier's human slave, Theresa See more

Gareth can’t wait to jump into your home! This handsome Chinchilla will be coming up for adoption soon from the Midland Centre. Did you know that to stay clean, Chinchillas need a dust bath twice a week? That’s right! It helps to absorb extra oil in the coat and keep them nice and shiny! Chinchillas tend to live longer than their other rodent friends, with a a life span of up to 20 years! Be sure you’re ready for a long and happy relationship with yours ... Finally, did you know that they can jump over 6 feet in height from a stand still if they feel threatened?! That’s crazy for a little fur ball!!! Keep watch at https://www.ontariospca.ca to see when he comes available, and how to adopt!

Please join us in supporting our veterans this Remembrance Day, as we honour and remember the animals who have served. Our 2020 Animals in War pin features a pigeon and symbolizes the wartime contributions of all animals. Mules carried artillery, horses transported troops and hauled field guns, pigeons delivered crucial messages, cats served as companions and kept ships free of vermin, and dogs have served as messengers, medical assistants, bomb detectors and search and rescue workers. We remember. To help keep our communities safe during COVID-19, the Animals in War pins are available online at ontariospca.ca/remember, or you can place your order by phone by calling 1-888-668-7722 ext. 360.
