Our southerly neighbours are defrosting their turkeys so it must be the big sale week! . My radio broadcast and social media feeds are quickly filling up with Black Friday ads so I wanted to take a moment and address how I’m participating here. For whatever reason - rational or not - the whole Black Friday thing doesn’t sit well with me. It’s not very pretty sometimes. Downright dangerous at others. . Activated Charcoal is SERIOUSLY DRAWING & DETOXING but there can be too much of a good thing! Horror stories surrounding charcoal masks abound! Our recipe has 10 ingredients with charcoal towards the bottom of the list! BALANCE IS ALWAYS KEY when talking about skin health! This mask also incorporates Bentonite and Canadian Glacial Clay to clear out pores along with organic house-ground lavender and yarrow for exfoliation and astringency. The other side of the teeter-to...tter is piled high with ground oats, coconut milk, rice powder and kaolin clay to soothe and calm. A bit of turmeric in there as it’s a skin superstar! . And ALL THAT is just the powdered base which you can mix with anything from tap water (with a few drops of Tea Tree Oil like I do for my teenage son) to mashed banana or avocado or yoghurt ... . You can also blend 2 or 3 of our mask mixes together! I’m 50 with historically oily skin and my go to for mask night is 3/4 Rose and 1/4 French! You do you ... play around and see what works best! . A Jar Recycle Program is Coming! . I was going to announce this after the holidays, but I’m getting a lot of inquiries lately about the serious collection of jars that some of you seem to be amassing! This will apply to all jars and possibly the lotion bar tins! . I am just working out the logistics of how to implement a jar return program to launch in the new year. Think old timey milkman bottle exchange or something similar ... but with a discount coming your way! This... will likely only be possible for the local pick-up or delivery folks. Those of you that receive my goodies via Canada Post may need to find other ways to repurpose or recycle the jars! . For now, if you don’t already have some awesome way to reuse the jars, please hang onto them and look for an announcement towards the end of the year! Many thanks! .
