Y’all when I look at my #christmasmantel from last year, it just makes me want to cry. When I got busy styling for my shoot with @cottagesandbungalows and put t...his scroll from @cottonwoodshanty front and center on my mantel, I had absolutely NO idea what a mess of year we would find ourselves in for #christmas2020. I had no idea how much we would NEED the message... THE WEARY WORLD REJOICES. . . So that leads me to ask....where are you finding joy this holiday season? What does rejoicing look like for you? Where are you finding hope? For me, through a series of circumstances, my heart is at peace with knowing I am right where I am supposed to be in this moment. Several circumstances have transpired since summer, and I have no doubt that being in Louisiana during 2020 IS providence. So I find peace and hope in the One who holds my future, when my future feels like it’s not being held. . . When I start showing you my 2020 Christmas scenes, things are going to look much more simple, reflective and nostalgic. My heart is so heavy, yet so joyful. Is it possible for those two to co-exist? . . Douglas McKelvey says it best: So give me strength, O God, to feel this grief deeply, never to hide my heart from it. And give me also hope enough to remain open to surprising encounters with joy, as one on a woodland path might stumble suddenly into dapplings of golden light.
