Mission Montreal 2012 22.06.2021

Hey Everyone, God is so good and we are blessed as we go We spent today in Quebec City and visited a basilica dedicated to St. Ann de Bapreau. Both were eye opening experiences. Yesterday we were privileged to be involved in the service, be welcomed into a family's home for a Francophone Christmas dinner in May, and hang out and eat poutine in Old Montreal with some new friends :)

Bonjour everyone! We are here in Laval and would like to give you all an update on what we've been up to. The trip so far has been fun, enlightening, and exhausting. So far we have been given a history of the Church and the Mennonite Brethren from a Ph.D. student in history, went for a walk to see some of the homeless community in downtown Montreal, spent an afternoon helping out at a homeless shelter, visited with a church planter who had previously worked at a huge Dallas c...hurch, and done landscaping at a nunnery. We've also planned some of the worship for this Sunday's service and are excited to take part and meet the congregation at Ste. Rose. Beyond that, we've been practicing our French (and being laughed at unsuspecting individuals across the city) and having a good time of it. We're both nervous and excited about our first day doing street evangelism in a slightly more multicultural area (so that we can use some English of course). It will be good to see how God uses that time to grow us and hopefully help others in the area come just a little bit closer to knowing Jesus. That is about all we have to say. We wish our mothers a very happy mothers day and wish we could be there to spend it with them and thank you all for your continuing support and prayer. As expected, we're finding ourselves pretty worn out by the end of the days, so please continue to pray that God will give us strength and use this time to show us and people in Quebec His will. Merci beaucoup (many thanks), -The MM12 Team

Hello everyone! Here is the update I sent to our mailing list, so some of you may receive this already, if not, it is here! First, the budget. Things are going wonderfully in the fundraising... department. We've counted expenses of $5498 and thus far have received roughly $7200 (roughly because we don't have an exact count on how much the concert raised yet). That means we'll be leaving around $1800 for Ste. Rose, even if we need every cent of the scheduled budget. This is great news, as Ste. Rose is in a tight spot financially and I am very excited to be able to help them both with our service while we're there and with a direct financial gift. Thank you all so much for supporting us! As we'll be leaving in a bit over 2 weeks, I'd like to leave you with a few prayer requests. Please pray for team unity; we've been getting along great so far, but there is nothing like being exhausted in a place with language and cultural barriers to get people angry at each other. :) Also pray for Ste. Rose, pray that the church will benefit from our time there and that we will benefit from what we learn from them. Also pray for the people in the community that we will have a chance to witness to, that God will prepare their hearts. We've got a lot of cool stuff planned including street evangelism, spending time in one of the gay districts, working with youth at the church, praying for Canada in Ottawa, church landscaping projects, and more. We're working on confirmation and getting things set up, and we're excited to tell you all about it once we return. :)

Hey everyone! In our preparations we have been in frequent contact with pastor Martin and today I heard back from him. He is greatly encouraged and excited by our fundraising efforts, which are owed to your gracious generosity! So thank you! Additionally, Martin provided us with this link introducing us to one of the people we as a team will have the opportunity to work alongside during our time in Montreal.... Feel free to have a read and leave your thoughts. Enjoy!
