The bad news just keeps rolling in... We have made the decision to cancel today's JR test day due to the weather :( we are working on another day in the near future to run the JRs! Keep an eye open for info and a date on social media!

We wish we had good news for everyone but unfortunately due to the continuing government restrictions we are forced to cancel all scheduled events (excluding the JR Race) till the end of May. Any racers wishing to participate we will still be needing your cars for our Mission Raceway Park setup to film for the virtual show. The Cowie team knows that if Severance doesn’t make the call to the lanes they give the championship to Megan Meyer-Lingner, so they roll Cowie’s engine over and work like mad to get it done. They make the call, Severance kills the tree, and then something in the driveline lets go to give Megan the win! This should be a campfire story for years to come! We feel as though something should be clarified! Never did we say the the district is "shutting us down" all we have said is exactly what you posted. The District is developing and voting on a new plan that will see residential property built all around us slowly making it harder and harder for us to operate thus causing the downfall and inevitable death of MRP. All well there is a plan in place to create thousands of jobs and tax dollars for Mission yet the city continues to try and block from happening...

Fans, Racers, Mission Residents We Need Your Help! As many of you have seen or may have heard the city of mission has been proposing a "Waterfront Revitalization Plan" for a while now. This has been put out on social media as well their website and many other local news sources. We feel as though we have been kept in the dark on this plan and after meetings with the city and their Waterfront team we still have very little info and feel like we have not been included whatsoeve...r in all the planning and future of the Mission Waterfront. It has been made fairly obvious by their Posts and plans they have no regard for the continuing operation of Mission Raceway and will be doing their very best to Force us out by building town homes and apartments directly beside the property. For many years we have been told that the Braich Family who owns the property beside us was in favor of the city’s plans for the waterfront leaving us with a tough situation to either fight back or accept the fate put in place by the city. After having a very extensive conversation with the Braich family and seeing the posts made by them on social media as well as the public hearing that they and the Martini Group spoke at we have learned that the Braich family is in fact against the city’s waterfront plans and have had a pending deal in place with the Martini group to develop their property into commercial buildings and warehouses for businesses such as Netflix and a window manufacturing business to operate out of along with many others. This would bring 2000+ jobs to the city of Mission along with large amounts of commercial tax dollars thus lessening the burden on residential taxes. This development would be majorly Beneficial for the city and would also work hand in hand with Mission Raceway allowing us to continue to operate for many years to come. The City of Mission however is not in favor of the Braich's Proposed development and have been fighting them for the previous 2 years making it difficult for them to move ahead. So needless to say WE DO NOT SUPPORT THE WATERFRONT PLANS! We are asking that all of our supporters reach out to the local counselors as well as SHARE SHARE SHARE and let our voices be heard. We will not go without a fight and after 40+ years of operation in the City of Mission we feel we should be given the respect to continue to operate for many more years! Thank you to everyone who has supported MRP! We greatly appreciate it. The city is meeting again Oct 5 to further discuss the changes to the OCP and the waterfront plans. This isn't the post we wanted to make but unfortunately we have been informed by the local health authorities that moving forward we are strictly limited to 50 people max at events or we will be fined heavily and Shut down completely .. This means we are having to cancel all of the scheduled events for the rest of the 2020 season untill further notice. Fellow racers, friends, and MRP family, we need your thoughts and prayers Many of you know or have at least heard of the name Dean Murdoch- the owner and editor of Speedzone Magazine. Dean has been a part of Mission Raceway and other race tracks for over 40 years. He’s always had drag racing and photography as a top priority in his life; and many of you have your favourite picture he took of your car hanging in your garage, shop or in a calendar. Dean and his f...amily need your thoughts, prayers and support right now. Due to unfortunate circumstance, He has been hospitalized due to a severe Stroke in his left brain, causing temporary paralyzation to the right side of his body. Dean will be in a rehabilitation center and undergoing intense and possibly costly therapies for the next several months to attempt to regain the function to the right side of his body. Dean has always been committed to the tracks, showing up every weekend and passing along his love and knowledge of the sport, and media that covers racing, to so many, especially his daughter Shelby. Go fund me pages are costly - so the family has set up a direct Interac E-Transfer program to collect funds through Dean's work email, [email protected] If you can help in any way during this tough time. Mission Finals Sept 19-20 Due to the fact we will not be participating in the ET Finals this year we have made some changes to the end of the season schedule and added a regular Summit ET Series Points race Sept 12-13. Brand new for this season we will be running a Mission Finals This race will take place on Sept 19-20 and will be run in a similar format of the ET finals. There will be an open test & tune from 9am-2pm on the Saturday ...then from 3pm till finished there will be a ROC for Electronics & Non Electronics. The top 16 in Points will be eligible to run the ROC for Non electronics and the Top 8 in points for Electronics (with alternates in case of breakage or a competitor not wanting to compete). ROC Competitors will be competing for a Wally and a Gold Card for the 2021 season. There will also be a Gamblers race for Electronics and N/E with a $20 buy in and 1st round buy backs on the Saturday night.
