A gentle reminder, that although we have moved to Stage 3 in most parts of Ontario and have managed to successfully keep infection rates low, our focus should c...ontinue to be on prevention and minimizing the spread of COVID-19. COVID-19 has impacted racialized communities at far higher rates so we must extend care to our community on an ongoing basis until we are in the clear. February 5, 2021 Community Update NO Confirmed Cases of COVID-19 in Mississauga First Nation. Families and individuals affected by this weeks Confirmed Cases in... our neighbouring community have been notified by Algoma Public Health through contact tracing. These families are in self-isolation during this time, we pray for their safety during this time. COIVD-19 tests have been carried out as of this recording, and some have already recieved negative COVID-19 results. Individuals and families in isolation have been contacted by Algoma Public Health or our Community Health Nurse and recieved supports. Gracious community members have also reached out to the familes to provide support in the form of errands or supply runs for the individuals in isolation. Our community is beautiful in this way and I thank those individuals who are offering help for thier kindness. Please continue to be careful and take the utmost caution when venturing out of your household and into contact with others. COVID-19 is still very present in the surrounding communities. Please remain with those in your household as your only forms of contact. If you must meet with others or come into contact with others make sure to mask-up and keep your hands clean. Community through Unity and Caring. Miigwetch, Reg
