I have always supplemented my private practice with free parenting circles that focus on breastfeeding, babywearing, sleep and parenting. It is important to me to be able to reach and support anyone who needs it! . GREAT NEWS!! I can now offer some or all of my breastfeeding visits with... Ontario families, under OHIP funding. This means that all families who need breastfeeding help can get help! . Our visits are ideal for simple breastfeeding challenges such as: . latch check ins weight checks sore nipples sore breasts blocked ducts introducing solids back to work planning weaning pumping . Some of my skills, expertise and services don’t fall into this covered category. Complex care visits are 1.5-2h, and an initial or add-on visit is paid for by the family. These include: . functional assessment for tongue, lip, buccal tie musculoskeletal restrictions and bodywork referrals habilitation and preparation for tongue, lip, buccal tie release (Frenotomy) Infant sleep, babywearing or parenting consultations . Happy IBCLC day!! Everyone gets a day, right? I’m all about self-love, and celebrating the amazing work families and IBCLC’s do!! Today is the day to send your... IBCLC a little note about how they served you.. show them some appreciation!! Today, I shout out to Dr.Jack Newman, @Edith Kernerman, @Jean Kouba, Lynda Kirby, @Shelly Plewes, @Suzanne Mackinnon, and @Shery Leeder - you hugged me and let me cry, you latched my not-yet-latching baby and motivated me to keep going. You helped me understand that breastfeeding IS HARD and that I could do hard things. And you inspired me to bring my wee little baby Kiki to school with me to become like you - an IBCLC rockstar. Thank you for gifting me the breastfeeding journey I was able to have, for your compassion, and for your influence! And to many of you, for your mentorship and guidance. We might come into your life for just an hour, a few days, or a month - but trust me, we fall in love with you quickly and care about you! Imagine all of those tiny momentary relationships... holding space for tears, for anxiety, for exploring what your true goals are. And then you no longer need us! That’s the ultimate goal - confidence in yourself as parents. I still think about so many families who have come into my practice.. and wish you nothing but wellness. Thank YOU to the families who trust me to dive in to their most vulnerable times, and love them through it.
