We just finished putting together our display wall for the shop. Definitely one of a kind finds. A nice addition to our instrument repair side of things.
Just starting work on our display wall. Captured some morning sun on a bowl back mandolin we have for sale. It’s a R.S. Williams and Sons Toronto (established 1873-1945) Canada. #mandolin @moarmusicluthier #mainstreet #frame #pictureframe #bowlback @davies_brass_woodwind_repair #bowlbackmandolin #yvr #vancouver #shoplocal #moarmusic #uniqueinstruments #wood #barnboard #barnboardbeauties

A fun but cold gig with the saxophone trio Scrooge Horns at Bright Nights in Stanley Park. This is the longest running yearly gig Ive ever done clocking in at over 20+ seasons. @brightnightsvan #stanleypark #stanleyparktrain @tomsolidgould #vancouver #saxophonetrio
Sometimes the french horn rotors can become a bit sluggish. Looking under the hood you can see why! The pictures show a before and after of a professional clean.
Super fun time hosting a stage at Car Free Day Main Street! @moarmusicluthier @andrewncdavies #MainStreet
I love the challenge of custom key work! Customer brought in a key from an old wood flute that had a hinge rod cut in half by a previous owner. The old damaged rod had to be replaced with a new one. So the fun begins.... Picture 1) final product. Finger rings and key cup silver soldered to new key hinge tube. Picture 2) the beginning. Original keys with damaged hinge tube removed. Picture 3) donor hinge tube and rod taken from a parts flute. Picture 4) completed key set soldered and polished on the 100 year old wood flute.
Think @sesamestreet Near....... ......far
Ive never seen that before: Just working on a flute, took apart the footjoint and look what I found on the Eb key!

Years of playing finally took its toll on the inner slide hand brace. It became as thin as a pop can. Got to replace the brace... @ Vancouver, British Columbia
