Longevity Foot Care

Today I saw my first hospital client since the Covid pandemic began. Following provincial and hospital guidelines, as well as our own client centred safety protocols- I was able to provide Safe, Effective and Gentle care that was much needed.

Covid-19 Pandemic: Update Regarding Foot Care services To our valued clients, It has been recommended that all non- essential services be suspended until this pandemic situation is under control. My concerns lay with the vulnerable members of our community and with the safety of our clients.... We are operating with 2 of 4 nurses- Myself, Chrystal working Victoria and some Cowichan, and Jen working Cowichan to Nanaimo. We are each working about 1 day a week to those clients who are at risk of other complications should they not receive professional foot care. I will post our Covid information sheet as well as the self screening tool for your reference. If you have an appointment coming up then please expect a call from us. If you feel your service is essential please explain this to Alek and she will relay this information to your nurse who will either approve the visit or decline. Please be assured if your visit has been cancelled due to the pandemic- we will be calling you back as soon as it is safe to resume care, and get you booked back in with your nurse. Longevity Foot Care: COVID 19 Pandemic Effects on Community Foot Care Services In the wake of the current corona virus pandemic, I have made the decision to suspend foot care services for the week of March 15th-21st. During this time we will develop policies and procedures to address the risks of our in home services to our staff, our valued clients, and our community. We will follow direction from the Government of Canada, World Health Organization and follow the most curre...nt information being provided to us at this time. We will make decisions based not only on Evidence, but also on Extra Caution. I will post these policies and procedures publicly as they develop; be assured we take the health and wellness of our community seriously.
