Spring with it’s burgeoning beauty is upon us. At The Green Bough spring brings new energy to continue to resist, with all we have and are, the persistent cancer that has pursued Joy intensely for 2 1/2 years (8 years in total). We are grateful for the beauty, love, friendship, kindness and generosity so many gift us with. We miss our involvement with Gabriola’s vibrant art community. But today we are happy to have our ‘selfies’ join many others on the walls of the Communi...ty Hall with the GAC Arts Festival wrap-up this evening. Have a blast everyone! Recent months have brought many changes for Joy and I and The Green Bough Studio and Gallery. Joy's health is improving and she yearns to get into her new studio that is in it's completion stage. We have moved our Gallery to our new property at 600 Rollo Road on Gabriola. The transition of the move and readying our studio spaces is a larger job than anticipated, so we must postpone the re-opening of The Green Bough Studio and Gallery until early November. We will post the new... open dates here and the Gabriola Arts Council Directory and Newsletter. Meanwhile before we dismantled our former studio, Joy managed to get into her porcelain clay to create some birds and began a new tide pool series. I began work on a new cold wax and oil series: 'A New Day'. They are awaiting our Gallery re-opening in November. Here are a few photos of our art activity.
