A surprise anniversary gift! I had to keep this one on the down low, but I will post progress pics shortly. This portrait was such a pleasure to paint, a gift lovingly commissioned by the bride for her husband <3 It was so much fun setting up the surprise and watching their faces as they pulled into the driveway!

A portrait of one face can take an average of 40 hours to paint, so as you can imagine, a family portrait can take much longer. This is why I like to start taking Christmas commissions in September. Between now and December I can paint a maximum of about 16 portraits(much fewer if they are family portraits). I like to reward those patrons who get their commissions started early with a discount. So, if you place your commission for Christmas during the month of September, I a...m offering a 20% discount. I am also only asking a 25% deposit (rather than my regular 50%) so that you can break down your payments over the next 4 months. I am fully aware that original art is a big investment for many. I am also aware that it is a worthy investment. There is no more emotionally impactful gift that you can give. Your portrait will be cherished by generations to come! Consider that you can also have prints made as gifts to other family members.
