On our Super Hero day we learned that there are super heroes everywhere! We all took the Kindness Ninja Pledge and will be working hard each day sharing our kindness with everyone.
Now that the snow is here please remember to send a pair of shoes with your child each day so we don’t have anyone running around the room like this! Take care stay safe! Mrs.Moll

Today in ELP we were learning to think with our eyes only. If the children wanted to put on a mask they did and the arrows helped them think with their eyes. This is part of our We Thinkers program!
The afternoon program was busy carving pumpkins, making cards, playing with pumpkin pie play doh, and tossing pumpkins! To finish the day we participated in the school wide Halloween parade on the playground. We hope that you all stay safe this weekend. Happy Halloween!
We had so much fun in our Halloween fun day! Dancing, fun with balloons, and of course carving pumpkins. We all hope that you stay safe this weekend. Happy Halloween!

‘‘Twas the night before ELP and I think we are ready. The teachers have been busy cleaning and organizing so we can all have fun! The name tags, and hooks, the centres and toys are all eagerly awaiting the children to come play. I am so excited - it will be hard to sleep a wink. But soon, vert soon we will hear all the pitter latter of little feet. See you all tomorrow! Mrs. Moll and the staff
Hello families! As I enjoy the last few days of Summer holidays, I am dreaming of meeting you all once again at our staggered entry or orientation days. Happy birthday Canada! Hope all of our families are enjoying this very special day
Hello families! As I think back to this school year, who would have known how unforgettable this year could really have been. You have all done the imaginable by staying home, staying safe, and doing your very best with virtual learning, and I am so very proud of all of you! We have learned that we don’t need to be physically together to still be part of a terrific school family . On behalf of the ELP staff morning and afternoon programs I wish you a heathy, fun filled Summer ahead, and anxiously wait to see you all once again! See you all Later! Sending virtual hugs and high fives to each and everyone one! Mrs. Moll
Come join us as we send you off to Summer holidays! Hope to see you there!
Hello friends! This week is all about Small Motor play! This type is play involves the careful and precise control of small muscles in the hands, feet, fingers and toes. Small motor play is not restricted to hands, feet, fingers and toes, however as it also means having the ability of control the muscles of the tongue and lips to speak or sing. Reading and storytelling that encourages the use of small body movements by connecting story and song with kinesthetics action is one playful way to further help children with development of their meaning-making abilities. Thinking back to the songs and plays that we did at circle time- five little monkeys , or little green frog, sure make me laugh! Have a great week! Mrs. Moll
Just a reminder that on Monday June 15 from 9-11:00am, and 6:30-8:00pm we will be at the school so you can come by and pick up your yearbooks. We will be waiting for you!

Families start your rock hunt! Find a rock not too big and not too small, paint it and put your name on it. Once done please drop it off in the garden at school so we can always keep you close in our hearts. All ELP staff and students are encouraged to do this activity and I look forward to seeing what you make! I will be adding my rock too. Mrs. Moll
I was out for a walk and decided to try out my large motor play climbing, balancing, and jumping about!
Hello everyone! This week is Large Motor Play themed. Children have a natural inclination and desire to climb, run, slide, swing, jump and engage in every type of movement possible. Large motor play is often associated with children having fun but has added benefits of developing their coordination, balance, stamina, and physical fitness . Another key aspect is that it plays an important role with children’s social development because they learn how to share equipment and navigate space in a cooperative and aware manner. Large motor play can be done inside and outside so take a look at our pictures for some ideas and post your pictures in the comments below so we can see what you are doing!
Ms. Jacquie was sold an ice cream today for five dollars at the park.....symbolic play at its finest! Thank you for sharing Ms. Jacquie! Hope it was yummy.
Symbolic play- Who you gonna call? Some of the staff are calling you our friends in ELP! Mrs.Moll
This week is all about Symbolic Play! Symbolic play represents developmental steps in learning when there is no longer a need for real objects to be used in play. Children who engage in symbolic play are more likely to be able to engage in Make believe play as well. Children begin to gain confidence in their ability to make decisions and independence from their ability to initiate and continue learning from play without needing specific artifacts, props, or supports. We might have a few surprises for you this week- stay tuned! Remember to post picture in the comments below if you wish! Have a wonderful week! Mrs. Moll
Ms. Kirby was having fun with Rules-based play- check it out!
My daughter came by with Finnegan for a visit today. He was trying to follow the rules but then he found the strawberry patch, so the visit was cut short. Have you ever seen a goat in your backyard?
So the classroom fish are getting into Rules-based play with a new space. They are trying out the new outdoor education - wonder what rules come with that? Charlie was there to check things out too. Do you think Charlie played by the rules or was making up her own rules? Post your comments below! Stay tuned!
Ms. Louise sent me this tonight....Do you think she is following the rules or did she change them up?? Post your comments or pictures below. Enjoy!

Today i released our butterflies in my backyard! Here are a few pictures and I will post some videos to follow. I followed the rules, but they were not in any hurry to leave their cages.
Rules-based Play is our theme this week! Rules-based Play helps children gain a sense of comfort and security that comes from having structure and order in their lives (not to be confused with conformity or control). Rules-based Play is a time where children freely challenge themselves to create, change, and adapt rules for their own purpose of self selected play. It is a type of play where children are given space and opportunities to create learning and play scenarios on their own where possible. With each success or challenge, children learn more about procedural, social and emotional rules that are embedded in their play with others. Check out our rule-based play from our classroom. Post your pictures in the comments below of you trying rules-based okay this week. Mrs.Moll
