To all the wonderful folks who have graced us with their presence at Mtn Fruit over the years. We are transitioning to a home based shop at the end of this summer. We'll be focusing on repairs and exploring yearnings to handcraft our own instruments. Can't find the words to say how incredible it's been to have connected with so many beautiful people in Canada's smallest music shop and we look forward to continuing that relationship with our new direction! Mtn Fruit

A copy of a 1918 Martin built by Jeremy Behn in '98 came in recently for some work. The main thing was a new custom bone saddle that had to overhang the saddle slot to get far enough back to achieve proper intonation.
Down to the wire! We will be doing the draw on Friday Dec 18th at 4PM, you have until then to buy tickets!

Together we have already raised $300 for the residents in long term care at Kaslo Hospital! There are still plenty of tickets available at $20 each. Get yours today! Here's a little back story on this guitar. It came in with a blown bridge and the cost of repair was greater than the instrument originally cost. The owner opted to donate the instrument for whatever cause we saw fit. ... Hope you enjoy this little video of the mate between bridge and top.
Armada of upright basses! One from an unknown West German maker, one Hofner, and one Shen. Gorgeous.

Upright basses will tend to see a lot of season shift, to the point where they will often require two separate bridges depending on the season. One solution is these adjustable bass bridges that give the flexibility of being able to change the string height without having a second bridge cut.
Had to take the back right off of this very nice handmade dulcimer to get at the broken braces.
Raffle Tickets going on sale soon for this instrument! Stay tuned for more information, this is a fundraiser for the elders, Hospital Residence Christmas Fund at the Kaslo Hospital.
Settin' up for a double fret dress on this fine Saturday evening
Some rewarding challenges came up through the process of working this Johnson "tricone" resonator guitar. After resolving some major buzzing originating in the cones we did some custom body work to create a recess which allows for proper pickup height
We will be closed this Saturday, Oct 10 for thanksgiving...back open on Tues the 13th as per usual.
