We are a volunteer run club that just made it through a tough season and don't need to also deal with having to purchase a new one. It had a bit of yellow electrical tape on the cord where it cracked a bit. So if you have it....or you know someone who just so happened to get one of these recently....PLEASE return it from where you took it. You know it is the right thing to do. And if you are suddenly feeling scared and thinking of just ditching it.....again we ask you to do the right thing. Thanks!

A thank you to Staff, Volunteers, our Board of Directors, Members, and all Visitor’s in this 2021 Season! First to our staff, thank you for all of the hard work that you put in over the last few weeks so that we could be open! We got through a season that was filled with both victories and challenges but because of your dedication to us and your love for Mt Evergreen we got to enjoy many successes. On behalf of Carson, myself, and our BOD, working with you guys for this seaso...n has been a pleasure. We are proud to have worked with you at Mt Evergreen this season! Next to our Volunteers, we would like to thank you all for jumping in and volunteering on a moments notice! Volunteers like you are so valuable in our community and we couldn’t have gotten through this season without you! We hope you all had fun and we also hope that you will consider donating your time to us again in the future! We truly appreciate all of your support! To our Board of Directors, without you guys this year wouldn’t have happened. We wanted to personally thank our board members: Blair McCallum, Tamara Howard-Bachinsky, Pam Viinikka, Doug Sweeney, Thomas Nabb, Tara Barber, Alex Evans, Brady Lund, Mark Thompson, Robert Kitowski, Jenn Cameron, and Scott Cameron for always being there when we needed help! We appreciate that you were willing to serve and we hope that you know that we always valued your time and input! Thank you so much to all of the parents and students who came out to support Mt Evergreen ski school! It made Covid seem to disappear for a few hours every weekend while looking at all of your smiling eyes behind those masks! Thanks for helping us all keep it safe and fun!! Sad but true.....this will be out final weekend. There are still tickets available so get to skikenora (.com) soon so you don't miss out. The snow conditions are great thanks to 12 hrs of lovingly, delicate grooming yesterday. And the weather will be absolutely spectacular! All COVID protocols are still in place with mask wearing and social distancing but we have made it even easier for you to enjoy the food and drinks you have come to love at Mt Evergreen. Fresh cut fries, r...eal poutine, big burgers, cookies, candy bags for the kids. And of course beer including LOW Brewery Sultana Gold, Lakeside and Channel Marker available in cans! We have added take out food service and increased the outside seating and fire area so no worries about crowding inside the chalet. Tubing is open with passes for 2 hr time slots available for purchase on line or at our new outdoor ticket booth. Mt Evergreen would like to thank everyone who has helped end the season with a BANG! So don't miss out on the final chance to shred, carve, ride, rip or bomb your way down the hill!

Wondering how we can be open when there is little to no snow in your yard? Snowmaking is the answer! Now we aren't making snow now but we do make enough in December to cover all the runs with 8" to 12" of snow. that way when it's almost gone everywhere else we still have enough to have fun on! This pic was taken on Wednesday March 10th at 1:30 in the afternoon. Our volunteer groomers have been working overtime spreading the snow as best they can. And FTR...the brownish color you see in the snow is the man-made snow which is darker because of the colour of the pond water.

The daytime temps will be warm but the important thing we need to keep the snow is temps bellow freezing at night which we will have every night except Monday.... Operational Update Feb 16, 2021 MTE will open on Friday, February 19th. K Hours of operation will be; Friday 5:00pm to 9:00pm, ... Saturday 10:00am to 9:00pm. (YES.NEW SATURDAY HOURS JUST FOR YOU!) Sunday 10:00am to 4:00pm Please read our Personal Responsibility Code for all COVID related information. Lift Tickets: Daily lift tickets are available for purchase on-line and this will be the fastest and safest way to get out on the hill! Tickets will be released starting Monday of every week for that week/weekend. Please note all lift tickets are non-transferrable and non-refundable. When you purchase on-line you will receive a receipt and this must be presented at our NEW outdoor ticket booth where you will receive your lift passes. If you use the electronic copy of your receipt be prepared to increase the size when at the ticket booth. If you are not able to purchase on-line, purchases can be made on-site but we highly encourage to do it on-line. Rental Equipment Rental equipment can be purchased on-line as well and you will need to show your receipt at the outdoor ticket booth. You will receive a voucher which must be presented at the rental shop. Strict COVID protocols are in place for the rental shop and this info will be provided to you when you get here. Tubing Please note that tubing passes are not for sale until February 17th Tubing passes are available for purchase on-line and you will need to show your receipt at our outdoor ticket booth. There is a very limited number of tubing passes available. Only set 2 hour blocks of time are available for purchase and this is detailed when purchasing. Please note all tubing passes are non-transferrable and non-refundable. Facial Coverings Facial coverings must cover your nose and mouth. Masks will be a requirement for ALL staff and guests. Mask exemptions are not permitted at MTE. Waiting in a lift line, loading, or riding one of our magic carpets or T-bars, and entering our chalet space and rental shop, you will be required to wear a mask and/or face covering that covers your nose and mouth. Highly recommended that Guests wear one while skiing and riding. Physical Distancing Leave appropriate spacing 2m or 6ft between yourself and other guests Follow one way and two way navigational signage throughout chalets Use your Car as your Base Lodge Come to the ski hill dressed and ready to ski. Bags and lunches will not be permitted in any of the indoor chalet spaces at MTE. Daily Lockers MTE will not offer daily boot locker access to guests this season. Please leave any valuables or belongings in your car. Access for gearing-up will not be permitted. We urge you not to visit the ski resort if you do not feel well, or if anyone in your household is ill. This is everyone’s responsibility.

TODAY IS THE DAY!!!!!!! We are so excited to be able to give Kenora residents the opportunity to hit the slopes before the seasons over. Doing this safely is top priority! The kitchen will be open and your favourites will be available but we have made a few changes to ensure safety. Thankfully the warm weather ahead will make things a lot more comfortable The chalet is currently only accessible for food pick up and is a mask on area at all times! Food cannot be eaten indoors.... Outside we have a large warming tent with picnic tables and we will also have a fantastic fireside eating area set up for you all to remove those masks to eat and drink safely. Beverages including hot chocolate, coffee, beer and coolers will also be offered fireside. We will have a SNACK SHACK set up outside as well that is CASH ONLY! Debit and credit are offered in the chalet. All take out will be served in paper and cutlery will be wooden to help feed our fires! Let’s all remember to keep those masks on, sanitize our hands and keep our distance while we get back to doing what we love safely! Remember to be kind to one another and listen to direction from staff and the volunteers. They have worked their butts off in the deep freeze to make this happen! One more thing you all can do for us..... EAT POUTINE AND HAVE THE BEST TIME EVER!!!

Huge thank you goes out to Brian Kraynyk from Kenon Builders for letting us use one of his trucks to plow our road and parking lots! Also a big thank you to Lyndon Hensrud for being here first thing in the morning and getting this done for us!

Sooooooo..... we just couldn't help ourselves! After assessing the volume of snow we were able to produce this year we knew it wasn't quite enough. We saw this mini cold snap in the forecast and the BOD all agreed that we needed to take advantage of it. The snowmaking system was turned on again Sunday night and has run all day Monday and we will shut it down Tuesday morning. Big shout out to our snowmaking crew of 2 who tackled the job. The weather has been excellent and as you can see we are producing quality snow! Now...let's get through this lockdown!

And on the morning of Dec 25 the guns were turned off for the 2020-21 snowmaking season! A big thank you to the 2 volunteers who offered to work the 24th and 25th! And a HUGE THANKS to all the volunteers who make the magic of snowmaking happen at our little big hill! Not surprisingly....this was the WORST snowmaking season ever. Absolutely terrible weather and multiple equipment breakdowns and the system had to be shutdown on 3 seperate occasions due to warm weather. We w...ill continue to push and groom and build the terrain park! Now let's hope the 2 week lockdown doesn't get extended. CHEERS!

Mt.Evergreen is hiring! There are currently 5 Liftee positions open and 2 rentel shop tech positions open. Both positions are unique jobs, that require unique p...eople to fill them. If you think you have what it takes please apply ASAP. Must be a good communicator and comfortable dealing with the public. Liftee position is outside work so must be able to work in all weather. Minimum age for liftee is 14 and 16 for the rental shop. All training is provided. If you have any questions feel free to call or text Carson at 407-4140. This Thursday Oct 15, 2020 at 7pm in the chalet. Join us inside with your mask and seating will be set up for social distancing. Or join us on Zoom. Please sent us a FB message requesting the zoom link and it will be sent out before the meeting. We will be reviewing the past season and updating current projects. We will also be laying out a basic plan for a SAFE opening this season. Significant work will be required to prepare the facilities for safe operations in COVID so if you have spare time to give please join us at the meeting or send us a FB message.

Wondering if you should buy a membership? Here is the math (membership cost day pass cost = days before membership is covered) Family Pass: $775 $145 (2 adult, 1 youth, 1 child) = 5 days! Child Pass: $260 $30 = 8 days!... Youth Pass: $305 $35 = 8 days! Adult Pass: $350 $40 = 8 days! We are open on average over 50 days a season so you tell us....is this a "no-brainer or what!! Membership pricing is our current Early Bird price which is available until Dec 6th. As a volunteer run and community based club our goal is to provide VERY AFFORDABLE activities for Kenora. There are too many variables for Mt Evergreen Ski Club to formulate a definitive plan in the event of an interruption due to COVID 19. But please be assured that if the slopes do have to close for a significant portion of the season, due to the COVID 19 pandemic, we will compensate season pass holders fairly for whatever scenarios may arise. Hello Kenora. Hope everyone is safe, healthy, and well during these unfamiliar times. In an attempt to adapt as well as make Mount Evergreen a four seasons destination, Mount Evergreen is in the process of acquiring funding to add a Drive In Theatre. We have the concession so that part is easy - but we are looking to add a portable screen that is suitable for 50 cars. Because it is portable the screen can be shared for other community events. The greatest part is that all proceeds from this purchase would go back into this community one way or another. There have been some socially distancing High School graduations done in a drive in setting which may be a possibility as well. What we want is your feedback. What are your thoughts on a Mount Evergreen Community Drive In?

It is with profound sadness that we announce the passing of one of our own Mount Evergreen Ski family. Bryan Marcyniuk was a valued member of our ski community for a number of years, he was a friend to many and a member of our ski patrol team. Bryan was a kind and compassionate soul, with an inquiring mind, who always dedicated himself 100% to whatever he did. He would always take the time to stop and say Hi, how are you doing? and was always the first to volunteer or lend a helping hand. Bryans gentle smile and beautiful spirit will be missed by us all. Our deepest condolences to Bryans family, friends and coworkers. His memory will live on in the hearts of others

Unfortunately we have to cancel the boot locker clean up and lost and found pick up until further notice. We have been advised to strongly encourage people to stay home. Everything is safely stored and we will keep everyone updated on when we can make this happen. Very sorry for the inconvenience. Stay safe, stay healthy and stay home

**Please share** We really hate to do posts like this....but we also need to get the message out. This is one of our liftee shacks. Sometime between Sat March 28th around 2 pm and Sunday March 29th at 11am someone did this. One of the quads that looks like a smaller one based on the tracks. There is literally nothing of value in this building to to take. One of our volunteers discovered this while out walking today. This is a terrible way to end the season as we have already ...suffered a significant financial loss with not being able to be open over the March Break and missing out on our final weekend. They also did significant damage to the cross country ski trails. If you have any information as to who may be responsible for this senseless damage please contact one of our volunteer Board members if you know them, or our Club President Blair at 807-467-1358 in complete confidence. We would just like the individual responsible to have to pay for the damage and hopefully learn a good life lesson!

As a community ski hill powered by volunteers our top prioritythe health and safety of our staff, guests and local communityremains at the forefront for us and, with this in mind, we are closing all resort operations as of March 15, 2020 for the remainder of the season. Closing our operations is an important step for us to take in support of efforts to limit the spread and risks associated with COVID-19. This is a dynamic situation and we continue to believe outdoor recreat...ion provides a meaningful escape to nature, which is what made this a difficult decision but this is the right thing to do. From those of us at Mount Evergreen Ski Club who love the great outdoors, to those of you who share our passion, we sincerely apologize for the inconvenience this short notice will undoubtedly create. We will be getting out information on our Early Bird pricing for next season very soon and encourage people to check back here in the next few weeks. March 14 2020 The resort is following the lead of Canadian public health authorities at this important time. Mount Evergreen Ski Club (MTE) will remain open. The current situation around COVID-19 is rapidly evolving yet the risk in our area according to the Northwestern Health Unit remains low. Our last day will likely still be Sunday March 22nd as planned.... We note that as an outdoor sport, where participants are generally covering their eyes, nose and mouth, skiing does not automatically result in additional risk of contracting COVID-19. That said, we defer to the judgment of our customers and in instances where you believe you may have been exposed, we ask that you refrain from visiting our resort, and self-isolate for 14 days, so that together we can ensure a safe and comfortable experience for everyone and limit the spread of this virus. Skiing and snowboarding are voluntary. The decision to participate or not participate in skiing or snowboarding at the resort is your own. This situation is evolving, and our response to this situation must be dynamic. MTE may adjust its response in the coming hours, days, or week. The resort will make every effort to keep our customers informed in a timely manner through our social media platforms. We have implemented additional measures to ensure your safety as well as the safety of our team, including: Enhanced cleaning protocols in our resort and in our cafeteria, with focus on high traffic and high contact areas. Coronavirus is easily eliminated by routine surface cleaning and staff are committed to vigorous cleaning throughout the resort. Increasing communications and reminders with our guests, partners and employees on important health and safety measures Please also be advised to follow the information, direction, and guidelines provided by the Government of Ontario (https://www.ontario.ca/page/2019-novel-coronavirus) and the World Health Organization (https://www.who.int/emergen/diseases/novel-coronavirus-2019). All of our staff, and volunteers would like to reassure you we are taking all precautions to keep our employees, and guests safe, and sanitary. Please do the same when visiting, and encourage others to do so as well. We will be washing our hands as frequently as possible, we will be sanitizing all tables, surfaces, door handles etc. in the chalet as frequent as possible, as well as doing routine cleans much more frequently then we already do. But it was more than just a grand opening, it was also also a celebration of community and what can happen when these people in our community come together to build a dream!!
