We are pretty proud of our little Yoga class here at MOVE! Since COVID we have moved our classes to online (with special in person workshops) and have been donating 25% of proceeds to charities! New Staff Member!! We are SO excited to welcome Physiotherapist, Courtney Buck, to our team here at MOVE!! She will be taking appointments starting the end of this coming week!! Get to know Courtney:... Who is your hero and why? My hero is my big brother. He was always someone I looked up to growing up and I still do today. Whether he was teaching me how to perfect a new move in the sport I was playing or just giving me general life advice, he was always there. He never hesitates to be kind to others or offer a helping hand. I am thankful to have grown up with a role model like him in my life. Where would you go on your dream vacation? My dream vacation would be to travel to several countries throughout Southern Asia, such as Thailand, Singapore, Maldives and Cambodia with a group of my closest friends. What are you most excited about working at MOVE? I am most excited about getting to work with such a great group of colleagues at MOVE. MOVE radiates such a positive, friendly work environment and I cannot wait to be a part of it. What is your favourite thing about your profession? My favourite thing about Physiotherapy is the amount of endless opportunities you have to help others achieve their treatment goals. It is such a diverse profession that encompasses domains from every aspect of life. I have a passion for helping others live a healthy active lifestyle and being a physiotherapist allows me to do that every day. What did you want to be when you were little? When I was little, I wanted to be a Doctor, I am very glad I chose to become a Physiotherapist instead. What do you like to do to keep active/moving? Some of my favourite activities to keep moving are running, soccer, swimming, going to the gym, hiking and in the winter, I enjoy snowboarding or skiing. We had the U16 Major Admirals in to MOVE yesterday for Complete Concussion Management Baseline Testing. This battery of tests allow us to compare an injured player to their ‘normal self’, in the categories of: -Memory ... -Concentration -Reading/Processing Speed -Balance -Grip Strength -Reaction time All to allow a safer and more successful return to LEARN and SPORT! We would like to introduce Garrett!! Our new Massage Therapist! Garrett has been practicing in NB for the past few years and lucky for us he decided to move to NS!! Garrett is working Mornings & Evenings starting THIS Wednesday! ... Check out his Q&A to get to know him a little better-> Who is your hero and why? - My Oma. Shes lived through so much and also immigrated to a country where she didnt speak the language. She always greats each day with joy, and makes sure everyone around her is happy first. Where would you go on your dream vacation? - Netherlands, Britain, Ireland, Portugal, Italy, South Korea, Japan, Thailand, Egypt, Morocco, Isreal, Argentina, to name a few. My dream vacation would be spending a whole month in any of those places to get a feel for the culture and see new landscapes. What are you most excited about working at MOVE? - I am excited to be working with a great team of professionals in such a beautiful location! What is your favourite thing about your profession? - Having the ability to help others (our bodies didnt come with instruction manuals). Being able to guide people through the healing process is a true pleasure as well as a privilege. What did you want to be when you were little? - In elementary school, I wanted to be a K-9 RCMP officer because it mixed having a dog companion and helping others. What do you like to do to keep active/moving? - I enjoy bouldering and lifting weights at SEVEN BAYS BOULDERING, as well as hiking the NS trails when weekends will allow it! I also sometimes jog with a horse named Paul.

Some insurance companies may still require a referral. Due to COVID, a lot have waved this. Check with your insurance company! Dont worry, we work collaboratively with your entire health care team. This includes your Family Doctor. Sending off an initial assessment report, and referring you to them for any further care or assessment! Krystyna started with us just prior to our COVID-19 closure and we are so happy she decided to return when we opened up again!! She hails from Barrie, ON and enjoys being outdoors and active!
