A reminder to register for @imagineNATIVE's Micro Meetings sessions. Registration is open until 11 pm EST tonight. I am so pleased to be there to meet with talented Indigenous filmmakers and talk about their projects and the work we do at Moving Images to connect films with audiences. With these Virtual micro-meetings I look forward to mask-free discussions, although I am grateful to Haida designer Dorothy Grant for her inspiring masks that have kept me healthy in the midst of Covid!

It may be only October, but lots of people are thinking of January--a new film, My Name Was January, directed by two local trans women of colour, Elina Gress and Lenee Son. We're excited to make this work available as an important work about diversity, tolerance and love. The film, produced by Alex Sangha and Ash Brar, under the umbrella of the Sher Vancouver LGBTQ Friends Society, is garnering awards on the festival circuit and many reviews. Here's a link to the latest one, from Canadian Immigrant magazine who interviewed Alex Sangha (past recipient of an RBC award for the Top 25 Immigrants). https://canadianimmigrant.ca//film-shares-story-of-transge
