We end the week with a post about an exciting new beginning! In this photo submitted by Treatment Support Manager Clint McCulloch, we see young smolt being transferred to a sea site off the coast of New Brunswick. This transfer process is an important task that is vital to growing premium seafood, and our staff did an awesome job. Great teamwork folks! We hope all our followers had a productive week, and we wish you all a happy weekend!

We close this week with a post about our office in St. Alban's, Newfoundland and Labrador. Two of the perks of working with Mowi Canada East: 1) Most of our workspaces are on or near the water, and therefore surrounded by beautiful views. 2) We have some of the best people you could ever want on your team! In this post we see the early morning calm in St. Alban’s just outside of our office building. We also see the wonderful administrative professionals who keep order in the Mowi Canada East universe. On administration appreciation day, they were recognized with a little extra token of appreciation - from right to left we see: Pamela Willcott, Heather Willcott, Roberta Evans, Queena Lilly, and Una Walsh. Our thanks to you, and to all our staff who bring their A game every day. Have a wonderful weekend everybody!

She is also a former President of the Newfoundland and Labrador Aquaculture Industry Association, and its first female President. To honor the fact that Joan is someone who has played an important role in setting a strong foundation for the industry in Newfoundland and L...abrador, and someone who is vital to building a strong future for our company, Mowi Canada East has named our next accommodations barge for remote operations after her. This is in keeping with Mowi Canada East's tradition of naming key vessels after key women leaders within our company. Find out more in the latest edition of INSITE: https://issuu.com/mowicanadaeast

We start the week by recognizing some great community work by our staff in New Brunswick! Led by young Barrett Lord (featured in picture - he is the grandson of Area Manager Allene Barrett), our staff organized food for the Hillary's Hope for Hunger Food Drive, which took place in St. George on April 24. Mowi Canada East thanks Barrett for his keen project management skills, and thanks all staff who contributed to this worthwhile initiative. Happy Monday everybody!

To help you find your way at the start of a new work week - a lighthouse post! This fabulous site visit photo was sent in by Clint McCulloch, who took this picture near one of our sites off the coast of New Brunswick. As you can see, we have some of the best views from our workplaces on the water, and since a lighthouse is meant to enhance safety on the water, this picture also reminds us to keep safety front of mind at all times! Have a great week everybody!

How about this for a spectacular Site Visit shot?!? Many thanks to Area Manger Cynthia Smith, who provided this fabulous photo of one of our remote sea site operations off the south coast of Newfoundland. It's like nature itself said "Good morning!" We start the week with a beautiful site visit post taken by 360 Marine's Matt Hearn and submitted by Sheldon McKinley. Here we see gorgeous shot of the community of Harbour Breton, a place where many of our staff and contractors depart from and return to when doing work on the water off the coast of Newfoundland. It is always a welcome sight, but it's particularly picturesque after a long shift at sea! Many thanks to Matt for providing this picture. Have a great week of work everybody, and when the work is done, enjoy a safe trip home!

As part of celebrating International Women's Day, Mowi Canada East has highlighted a number of women leaders who make great contributions to our company every day. Our last company leader profile that we will be highlighting this year will be Heather Bryant's. As Senior Lead Technician at one of our Atlantic Canadian hatchery facilities, Heather plays a key role within our freshwater operations. We asked her about how she came to work in aquaculture and the best parts of wo...rking in the industry, and she had this to say: "I have been a part of the Aquaculture industry, in both school and work, since 2006. I started my Aquaculture career by gaining an international internship in Northern Norway, and loved it so much I decided to stay there and continue my education. I've been in the industry ever since. The best part of my career is that each work day is different. The industry is constantly changing and growing and I enjoying learning and growing with it. I've had a lot of great experiences and opportunities over the years, and look forward to many more."

Happy International Women's Day! To celebrate, Mowi Canada East is highlighting a number of women leaders who make great contributions to our company every day. In this post we focus on Area Manager Cynthia Smith (right in photo) and Site Manager Tammy Smith (left in photo). Both play vital roles in our sea site operations off the coast of Newfoundland, and both have been tremendous ambassadors for Mowi, having appeared in campaigns that speak to the benefits created by aquaculture, and that encourage women to join the industry. Many thanks to both for their leadership, and commitment to inspiring others.

To take us into the weekend, we have another Mowi in the Community feature taken from the latest edition of INSITE! The St. George and Area Food Bank in New Brunswick not only maintains the most utilized emergency food service in their region, but also provides other services that include helping people complete their income tax returns free of charge, and supporting healthy snack programs in schools. At Christmas, their services are especially in need, so we decided to hel...p last month by delivering 50 turkeys! We have great admiration for everything this wonderful organization does, and were proud to support their efforts during the holiday season. Read more in the latest edition of INSITE! Today, Thursday, September 10th, is Suicide Prevention Day. Mowi Canada East is taking the time to recognize this day to help ensure no one ever forgets that "mental health is health." It is not something separate mental health is an important part of our overall well-being, and we have to protect it, take care of it, and take care of each other. We want to create an environment where people understand that they don’t have to carry the weight of mental health challenges alo...ne, and if they have been impacted by the suicide of a loved one, people are there for them. That’s why we make the sign of a heart to let people know we care, and that help can be a conversation away. Many thanks to all our staff who took the time to take a picture and show their support! For more information, visit: https://suicideprevention.ca/WSPD
