Today is the WSIB National Day of Mourning. In recognition of this, we at Lundy Construction will be observing a moment of silence at 11am across each of our projects and at our head office. In this way, we remember those who didn’t make it home from work, were injured on the job, or fell ill. We also take time to reflect upon how we can make our workplaces safer and create a culture of responsibility for ourselves and each other. #weremember #wsib #dayofmourning #lundyconstruction #worksafe #workplacesafety #constructionsafety

Dress for success! Recently our site superintendent, Neal Bamber, impressed us all by quickly changing out of his site attire to attend his employee review wearing a tie. This sort of thing says a lot about Neal and his commitment to professionalism. Starting his career at Lundy as a carpenter, Neals' first project was the Alex Trebek Alumni Hall building at Ottawa U, which was completed in 2014. Since then, he has continually risen to new challenges and greater responsibility. Neal is now a superintendent in our Agile Projects Division. The team at Lundy particularly appreciate his proactive and solutions-focused approach to issues that arise on his site. Neal and his wife, Elizabeth, stay very busy raising their two children: Six-week-old Casey and sixteen-month-old Grace. #dressforsuccess #wearelundy #teamlundy #employeespotlight

Despite the challenges of the times, we continue to make great progress on our Canadian Tire Flagship Store project. Our valued trade partner Simcon Steel have begun erecting the 50 foot steel columns that will make up the entrance tower vestibule. The next time you drive by the Carlingwood Mall you may not recognize it! #ottawaconstruction #structuralsteel #canadiantire #lundyconstruction https://youtu.be/USckp1gLJ8k

Commemorating World Health Day this year certainly feels unlike any other in the past. At Lundy, we are taking a pause to reflect on all those who have been affected by the global pandemic, and, in particular, those who have lost loved ones to Covid-19. The battle continues and we wish all of our families, friends, coworkers, and partners strength in facing both the mental and physical challenges of these times. In an unprecedented way, the world has bonded together like a massive community to defeat this virus and history has been made in 2021. It's more important than ever that we continue to respect public health guidelines in order to win this fight together! #worldhealthday

Too all of our loved ones who did not make it home that day from work, for those who became ill from a workplace incident and for those who will forever bare the scars from a workplace accident, April 28th, 2020 is the WSIB Day of Mourning. A special day to hold you in our thoughts and prayers. We at Lundy Construction think of you, remember you and are committed to protecting you.
