Memorial Anniversary This week of April, Canada’s Military Police remembers Corporal Randy Joseph Payne and Corporal Matthew David James Dinning. 15 years ago,... on April 22nd, 2006, we lost two brothers near Gumbad, Afghanistan: Corporal Payne was stationed in Wainwright, Alberta, and Corporal Dinning stationed in Petawawa, Ontario were killed in action while deployed as members of a Close Protection Team. #WEWILLREMEMBER #SECURITAS Commémoration En cette semaine d’avril, la Police militaire du Canada se souvient du Caporal Randy Joseph Payne and Caporal Matthew David James Dinning. Public Service Announcement Night Firing Exercise at Bedford Rifle Range October 26, 2020 Halifax, N.S. Department of National Defence / Royal Canadian ...Navy Residents of the Halifax Regional Municipality, especially in the vicinity of the Bedford Rifle Range, are to be advised there will be a night firing exercise using live ammunition on Tuesday, October 27, from 6:00 p.m. until 10:00 p.m. These exercises are conducted to ensure that personnel are familiar with proper weapons handling during night time operations. Members of the public transiting in the vicinity of the Bedford Rifle Range are to exercise caution and keep clear of the property. Safety teams will monitor and control all activities. Any noise or inconvenience to residents is regretted. *** Message d’intérêt public Exercice de tir nocturne au champ de tir de Bedford Le 26 octobre 2020 Halifax, Nouvelle-Écosse Ministère de la Défense nationale/Marine royale canadienne Les résidents de la municipalité régionale d’Halifax, en particulier les personnes qui habitent près du champ de tir de Bedford, sont priés de noter qu’un exercice de tir nocturne avec des munitions réelles aura lieu le mardi 27 octobre, de 18 h 00 à 22 h 00. Ces exercices servent à aider le personnel à se familiariser avec les bonnes techniques de maniement des armes durant les opérations nocturnes. Les membres du grand public qui circulent près du champ de tir de Bedford doivent être prudents et éviter de s’y aventurer. Des équipes de sécurité surveilleront et contrôleront toutes les activités. Meet this week’s #FaceofBaseHFX: Atlantic Defence Aboriginal Advisory Group (ADAAG) Secretary and Co-Chair: Sgt Dianne Lambert! Although non-Indigenous, Sgt Lam...bert is raising her 7 year-old Indigenous son within the local Mi’kmaw community - partaking in the many cultural activities and traditional teachings offered in the Parent Support Group at the Mi’kmaq Child Development Centre. Sgt Lambert previously worked for seven years as the diversity recruiter for the Canadian Forces Recruiting Centre’s Halifax Detachment where she regularly visited Indigenous communities all over Nova Scotia. More recently, over the past three years, she has been working in Attractions and Diversity at the Canadian Forces Recruiting Centre Atlantic HQ, where she holds the title of Diversity NCO and organizes diversity influencer events. It’s easy to see the results of her passion translated into her everyday work with her passion to expand her spiritual knowledge while supporting and learning from the Indigenous community. In celebration of Mi’kmaq History Month, we want to thank Sgt Lambert and the entire ADAAG team for all the important work they do to ensure that our workforce continues working toward inclusivity through community outreach, education and the provision of advice to senior leadership on workplace issues relevant to our Indigenous #DefenceTeam members! #Bravozulu **** Voici le membre des #GensdelaBFCHalifax de cette semaine : la secrétaire et coprésidente du Groupe consultatif des Autochtones de la Défense de l’Atlantique (GCADA), le Sgt Dianne Lambert! Bien que non autochtone, le Sgt Lambert élève son fils autochtone âgé de sept ans au sein de la communauté mi’kmaw locale. Elle participe aux nombreuses activités culturelles et aux enseignements traditionnels offerts par le groupe de soutien des parents au centre mi’kmaq de développement de l’enfant. Le Sgt Lambert a travaillé pendant sept ans comme agente de recrutement axé sur la diversité pour le détachement d’Halifax du Centre de recrutement des Forces canadiennes, où elle a régulièrement visité des communautés autochtones dans toute la Nouvelle-Écosse. Plus récemment, au cours des trois dernières années, elle a travaillé au sein du service attraction et diversité du quartier général du Centre de recrutement des Forces canadiennes Atlantique, où elle détient le titre de sous-officier chargé de la diversité et organise des activités pour les personnes d’influence dans le domaine de la diversité. Il est facile de voir les résultats de sa passion dans son travail quotidien compte tenu de sa volonté d’élargir ses connaissances spirituelles tout en soutenant la communauté autochtone et en apprenant d’elle.
