With major creds to Early Years Outdoor on IG, the few kiddos at my lunch table and I got to dreaming about beefing up the blocks /small world area of our room. We all loved the pic in my feed and set to work painting some cardboard houses! I am super stoked to show them these story spoons Im making tonight! Tge characters on each spoon are from one of our regular/most read books called "Dear Zoo"! Stay tuned as the kids design our very own story shelf! They wanted peg ppl which are on the way through Amazon Prime!

The team at Mud Pies & Butterflies Family Childcare had an excellent day together engaging in professional learning and growth! I am excited to share that we are embarking on a 12 month Acceditation process to be a recognized The Curiosity Approach setting!!!

Gonna go ahead and BRAG up my team for a quick minute!!!!!!! I'm SO PROUD OF THEM for acing our annual ECERS Quality Rating Assessment! During a PANDEMIC even...the team at Mud Pies managed to increase our score from a 6.07 to a 6.21!!!!!! It goes "7,5,3,1" Highest possible being a 7 which is virtually non existent due to structural barriers like having a board room, a seperate staff bathroom or being wheelchair accessible. I am pleased to announce that Mud Pies & Butterflies Family Childcare is growing! We have been truly blessed in our current Dieppe location that launched in 2019 and wish to continue offering more familes access to Quality, Licensed, and Reggio-Emilia inspired care! We are currently in the process if obtaining another license from the Department of Education & Early Childhood Development and hope to start tours in late March! Tonight as I perfect the classroom for 15 of my FAVORITE little people....I am in awe and lifted up with gratitude for how many people SAW MY VISION and trusted me. From loan officers to fire marshals, health inspectors, and department coordinators right down to the frontline people -COLLEAGUES, PARENTS, STAFF, AND MY HUSBAND!!! At my center we do family style dining where the kids serve themselves...set the table, scoop and choose how much, pass the bowl...clean up....as if being ADORABLE isnt enough...they Love it!! Almost zero waste as they decide what and how much. They eat so healthy...from baked cod to hummus to chickpea risoni....its amazing what happens when the child feels capable, trusted, and worthy! Overheard during play this morning: " Hey so-and-so. Do you know whats for lunch today?" Other kid: "No but its always something yummy!" You guys!!! Our Department of Education and Early Childhood sends in an Evaluator to do a 5+ hour intense observation to determine "quality" in designated centers. The scores are 1,3,5, & 7. "7" is pretty unattainable as an overall score as it entails structural things we wont ever have like wheelchair ramps (we're in a basement) and seperate staff washrooms, a conference room, etc... Well....we blew this evaluation out of the water with a 6.07!!!!!! 29/42 items we got a 7 on! So to my amazing clients, phenomenal Educators, and hard working hubby....CHEERS! And thank you for giving this place it's genuine heart! Here's to an amazing 2020!
