Making Your Toonie Go Further To celebrate the 8th anniversary of the Toonie Toss, we are pleased to announce a new initiative that will help to support more local charities each week! Starting May 3 we’ll be donating 10% of the week’s proceeds to a local charity and we’re asking our winners to help us choose! ... How does it work? We’ve identified 20 local, CRA-registered charities. Each week our Toonie Toss weekly winner will select the following week’s recipient charity from the list. For example, our winner on May 3 will pick the recipient for the week and on May 10, we’ll give that charity 10% of the pot. If the winner does not want to select a charity, the club will make the selection by random draw. Any charity not picked in the first twelve week cycle will be moved to the new list for the next quarter. Make sure you are following our social media as we’ll be working with the charity of the week to profile them and the Toonie Toss program. That’s it. It’s that simple! It is important to note that everything you love about the Toonie Toss remains the same. This new initiative is meant to help support and profile our local charities, with no other aspects of the program changing. So get your toonies ready! Now there are 20 more reasons to play your number for life and support your local community!

Your Toonies at Work The Memory Cafe The Mud Creek Rotary is pleased, on your behalf, to support The Memory Café with a donation of $6500 to assist the 2021 Winter and Spring programming. The Memory Café is an Age-Friendly Communities’ Initiative to improve social well-being for older adults with memory challenges and their caregivers and families. It is a collaborative project between municipalities, local businesses, artists, health care providers, support organizations a...nd volunteers to help destigmatize dementia by creating welcoming social spaces right in the community. This from the Café Coordinator, Beverley Cassidy: Your support of funds for persons with dementia and their caregivers will help break social isolation and add meaningful experiences to the lives of this most vulnerable population over Winter and on into Spring. Thanks to your donation we will be able to bring some great musical and artistic programming to our Memory Cafes this coming year. Local visual artists Holly Carr, Doretta Groenendyk, Arnaud Beghin and Elizabeth Sircom have already agreed to participate and live art will enrich Memory Café experiences so much for our participants. Your Toonies at Work Peopleworx Holiday Season/Christmas Food Hampers The Mud Creek Rotary is pleased, on your behalf, to support the Peopleworx team with a donation of $1000 toward the Holiday Season/Christmas Hamper program. For the 17th year in a row the team members at Peopleworx have donated their personal time and money to prepare Christmas hampers to go out to those in our community who are under employed or unemployed. These families are dealing with significant fi...nancial challenges and during Christmas these challenges are even more acute. This year 50 hampers were distributed to offer a little relief from the stresses of the Christmas Season. The Team at Peopleworx, through their own generosity and Christmas spirit, help those with needs in our community and are an inspiration to us all.
