Symptoms of a heart attack are different for men and women. In fact, if a women feels pain in the lower chest that worsens when she lays flat but feels better when she leans forward, this could be a sign of pancreatitis and could rapidly turn into a medical emergency. If the pain is sudden, severe and radiates from the upper abdomen to the chest and back, treat it as a medical emergency as it may be acute pancreatitis. *Pancreatitis us most often caused by gallstones, and can even occur years after a gallbladder has been removed.

FACT or FICTION? Convalescent Plasma is NOT shown to improve outcomes in patients with severe and life-threatening COVID-19. What is Convalescent Plasma? People who've recovered from COVID-19 have antibodies proteins the body uses to fight off infections to the disease in their blood. The blood from people who've recovered is called convalescent plasma. Plasma is the liquid portion of the blood... FACT: Convalescent plasma in a randomized controlled trial from China FAILED to demonstrate a significant improvement in the time to clinical improvement within 28 days.

Approximately half of asymptomatic cases had lung opacities, most frequently ground glass opacities. MD Brief: Asymptomatic cases account for more than 20% of all COVID-19 patients. These patients tend to be younger. Many of these asymptomatic patients have CT abnormalities on investigation. These cases seem to be an important source of spreading COVID-19.

Covid-19 on an aircraft: Cough without a mask - virus travel 4-5 seats ahead, and the aerosol-cloud even further. About 5-10 people could get infected. Cough with surgical mask - virus travel 1-2 seats forward and 1 seat back, in part because particles travel out sides of mask, and due to airflow trajectories of the cabin, and brownian motion.... Cough with N95 mask - virus travels 1 seat forward and 1 seat back, in part due to airflow trajectories of the cabin and brownian motion. Q. Do N95 Face Masks protect against infection? Coronavirus micro-droplets are 60-140nm (125nm being most referenced). N95 filters out 95% of 300nm and up. Taking into account brownian motion, there's a probability of filtering out most of the particles. But not enough to say it's going to protect workers (especially with the probability many health care workers will not change them as regularly as they should).... A huge drawback of N95 masks is the need to replace them after about 2 hours of use, otherwise the filtration pores get clogged. This presents a couple problems, first, it's not as easy to breathe, and second, the virus held within the pores can come loose and be inhaled. Q. CAN THEY BE REUSED? They COULD be disinfected (e.g. with VUV), however the pores would still remain saturated, making breathing difficult, and increasing the risk of inhaling micro droplets. UVC would not be effective, as it only disinfects where the light reaches (smooth non-porous surfaces). VUV (Vacuum UV) is shorter wave lengths that produce ozone, which kills the virus in most porous materials, around, behind, above, etc. So in short, NO. An N95 filter is one-time use. Q. WHAT CAN BE DONE to improve safety? When within 6 feet of someone who is suspected of being infected (or in a red zone), wear a face shield in addition to a mask.

MASK EFFECTIVENESS First a note from the CDC: A surgical mask does NOT provide the wearer with a reliable level of protection from inhaling smaller airborne particles and is not considered respiratory protection. An N95 mask filters out at least 95% of airborne particles including large and small particles.... The difference being that a surgical (or homemade) mask does NOT provide ANY protection against INHALING Covid-19 micro-droplets. IN SHORT: Wearing the mask is to prevent GIVING the virus, NOT receiving the virus. Homemade mask effectiveness - A blind study: https://www.maskfaq.com/test-results The winner appears to be: 2 layers Kona 100% (Quilters) Cotton + 1 layer 1500 Filtrete Furnace Filter. Easy to breath, and over 80% effective. N95 tested at 98.2% U.S. National Library of Medicine: A homemade mask should only be considered as a last resort to prevent droplet *TRANSMISSION from infected individuals. *Transmission, not reception. Wearing a mask helps prevent spreading the virus, but does not prevent breathing-in the virus, as the micro-droplets can pass through the mask. Larger droplets, such as from a cough, may be prevented from transmission by wearing a mask.

Somebody posted a FAKE review. He is associated with another medical service and we've never met him. MulticulturalFirstAid.com is a Canadian Red Cross Professional Responder Training Partner. There is a lot of misinformation regarding TREATMENTS for Covid-19. The most serious symptom is Acute Respiratory Distress Syndrome (ARDS). Within the first 72 hours onset of experiencing difficulty breathing or a low (oxygen) reading, lay FACE DOWN in what is known as Prone Position. Do this for at least 12 hours each day to relieve symptoms.... ARDS occurs when fluid builds up in the tiny, elastic air sacs (alveoli) in your lungs. The fluid keeps your lungs from filling with enough air, which means less oxygen reaches your bloodstream. By laying in prone position (face down), fluid will to shift to another region of the lungs (ventral), and allow the alveoli that have collapsed to be recruited (to work again). This eases breathing and restores oxygenation. Note the ventral space contains less alveoli, and this is why more alveoli in the dorsal region can be recruited to increase oxygenation.
