Happy Halloween! We hope your Halloween is safe and full of more treats than tricks! This Guzmania musaica was in bloom in early October within the tropical pyramid. This plant, native to Central and South America, typically blooms between June and August, and can grow up to 16 inches tall. Some say it looks like the Halloween treat candy corn - what do you think?

Happy Friday! Today's plant feature is Red Brugmansia (Brugmansia sanguinea). This plant is regularly found in the Colombia Andes down through Chile. It likes growing in cool summer climates and can tolerate light frost. The flowers are not scented but the colors are extremely vibrant! In their native habitat they attract many hummingbirds.
