To all the nature lovers out there, Mount Nemo needs your help - URGENTLY! "Mount Nemo is a crown jewel within the Niagara Escarpment, a UNESCO World Biosphere... Reserve. This proposal seeks to remove huge amounts of Mount Nemo's highly vulnerable limestone aquifer, at the headwaters of numerous creek systems and Provincially Significant wetlands. Mount Nemo is one of the most biologically rich places in the world, home to endangered plant and animal species. It is a fountainhead, where dozens of stream and creek systems originate, including Bronte and Grindstone Creeks." To read the full email and learn how you can stop more quarrying from destroying this habitat follow this link: https://escarpment.ca/ebc-news/urgent-conservation-issues and click on the attachment from Sarah Harmer and Roger Goulet. Objection letters must be submitted before December 14th 2020!

Wild patients recovering at TWC are in need of straw once again! We are looking for donations of up to 10 full size bales, untreated. If you’re able to donate o...r have any questions, please call our donations team at (416) 631-0662 ext. 3207, or email [email protected]. Due to COVID-19 restrictions, appointments are needed to drop-off donations (unfortunately we are unable to offer pick-up services). Thank you! Straw is used in various enclosures for animals to nestle and hide in, like an Eastern cottontail who needs time to heal after being attacked by an outdoor cat; straw will help keep her warm and snug as her wounds heal. With autumn here, TWC needs more straw for bedding so wild patients can keep cozy and comfortable as they receive their treatments and recover.
