We're so proud of our Carleton Navigators alumni, Emily Ruth, who has released her first single today called How Long. This song is based on Psalm 13, where King David is calling out to God, saying How long, Lord? Will you forget me forever? How long will you hide your face from me? How long must I wrestle with my thoughts and day after day have sorrow in my heart? Emily says this song comes from a place of longing, of pain, and of asking God where He is in the midst of it... all. "It was inspired by the idea of letting my misery be what drew me back to the Father." As Navigators, our desire is to help people come to a deep, ongoing connection with Jesus. Emily has drawn from her experiences and is passing her learning on to others, to help guide those who hear her music closer to the Father.
