It was a truly special weekend on a truly special body of water. Less than 11 months after the first discussion about launching a regional series in the Maritimes, we hosted the final event of 2019 in that all new, 4 event series It was a weekend of firsts not only for us, but for the anglers. This was the first season of the B1 Fishing East Coast Series. Our first time in the beautiful village of Perth-Andover, and our 1st time crowning an ECS Team of the Year. ... For the anglers, the firsts got even bigger with Martin Bear and Ernie McKay weighing in 20.14lbs for the first ever 20lbs 5 fish bag in New Brunswick tournament history. Next, we have Ryan Hood and Aaron Hood weighing in 37.72lbs over two days, making them the first team in New Brunswick to ever top 37lbs in two days with 5 fish limits. Are we done yet.....nope. This one we can’t totally back up, but to our knowledge, this was the first time in New Brunswick that 14 fish of 4lbs or more were weighed towards the lunker prize, and we know there were more 4’s that didn’t get weighed on day two because they wouldn’t catch the 4.85lbs beast that was leading after day one. And finally, the first ever B1 East Coast Series Team of the Year crowning. Congrats to Jeff Duncan and Jeff Parker for taking home that crown. Job well done gentlemen. Who would have thought less than 11 months ago that we could have pulled off such an amazing first season. Thanks to all the anglers, communities and sponsors who made this possible. Without each and every one of you, we would not be able to do what we do best.

At 4pm, come back and watch the first ever B1 weigh in on the East Coast, featuring some of the best tournament anglers in the region. Sunday: We come back out and do it all again with blast off and weigh ins taking place at 7am & 4pm respectively as we crown the winners of round one of the B1 East Coast Series. B1 Fishing, Canada’s premier bass tournament organization, prepares for the inaugural season of it’s all new East Coast Series, which introduces 4x exciting events to the Maritimes as well as the launch of the first ever OPENS Series event in Fredericton this fall. The B1 has consequently embarked on a campaign to promote bass angling in the Atlantic Canadian region unlike anything the East Coast has ever witnessed before. Part of this campaign includes an exciting partnership with Master Promotions and the New Brunswick Sportsmen’s Show that has resulted in the opportunity to bring in Team Canada and B1 Fishing anglers David Chong and Joe Ford Fishing as Special Guest Speakers for the province’s largest outdoors show. David Chong is one of the most recognized anglers in Canada at this time. With over 25 years of competitive fishing under his belt and a resume of accomplishments too long to list. He is a sought after speaker and respected ambassador for the sport. David’s seminars have been a key to the growth and success of many anglers currently competing at high levels across the Canadian tournament scene. Joe Ford is not only a respected and successful tournament angler, but also an accomplished speaker and fishing guide.
